Odyssy PC1500 battery

Postby phatboyroy » 31 Dec 2012, 11:39

Hi all,
Happy new year to all, and it's that time of year, for me to buy a battery.
I see 'wheelchairdriver.com’ recommends an odyssey pc1500, but looking on various sites I see a 34-pc1500; a 34m-pc1500, and a 34/78-pc1500. :? Has anybody any idea what the specs mean?

In the UK only the DUAL TERMINAL one is available. It has DT at the end. So you want a PC1500 DT which is a GRP 34/78 sized case.

http://www.tayna.co.uk/ODYSSEY-PC1500DT ... P7671.html

The only battery in this size with 1500 CCA Cold Cranking Amps. So for torque in the right chair its superior. About 3 times as good as the rest of the deep cycle batteries...

MK grp24 is better for cycle life and most people. http://www.tayna.co.uk/GB12-73-M24-SLDGFT-P285.html
1 inch taller, same range, longer life if charged correctly, and less performance, slower charging.

And of course which you choose also depends on what your charger does?

Dont pay VAT send them a vat exemption cert.

Many thanks Burgerman,
i should have said it's for the car, Grand Voyager 2.8 crd, in my stupidity i expected you to know that!! ;)

further, what does the 34/78 sized case signify?
i've seen some sites, 9UK) that are selling all 3 models
eg.
Griffin batteries
http://www.griffinbatterycentres.co.uk/ ... &Itemid=25

Devon 4x4
http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?page= ... &Itemid=14

up until this weekend Griffin were selling them for £174.50 for the 34M and 34; and £182.50 for the 34/78.
prices went up this weekend. 30/12/12

i've just dicovered what the M signifies, = Metal Casing as opposed to the standard GRP.
best regards
roy
