Recently Completed Street Rod

Postby cdb0ewm » 28 Jun 2013, 03:49

I though you might be interested in a project I recently finished. It's a 1929 Ford street rod. I enter through the rear via a lift and drive from my chair.

The drivetrain is from a Corvette, with independent suspension all around. The motor is a small block Chevy that has a Hilborn mechanical fuel injection from a 1960's dragster. We converted it to electronic fuel injection and I tune it from my laptop.

The project was made possible by lots of my friends who were my 'hands' during the build. The best part was that it was finished the day before my wedding as was our limo.

Its amazing what you can do with the help of others.

Yes, that's how I build my chairs! You are the brain, the others are your hands.

That looks like fun. :)

I missed that. Did you meet before or after wheelchair?

I ask because many people (users) seem to think you cant meet women or have a relationship once you land in a wheelchair.

I have, done so several times, post injury, and the last one moved out after 10 years, about 2 years ago. And there's already another one in the wings. And there's no need to "settle" either. I actually think its easier to meet attractive young fit things now, as you are not seen as a threat! And its not just me or you, as I have a few friends and acquaintances, that are paraplegic, or whatever, and they are just the same. Ex bikers, ski accident, horse riding accident victims, mostly, but its personality and confidence that matter here.
