EZ type lock construction

I'm currently looking around at second-hand drive-from vehicles and came across one with an unusual vertical locking system - picture one. I looked around (on ebay) for a more conventional lock to get an idea of the price to change something like this, but no joy on ebay, and I found a dealer price of "from £1200" fitted !!!!! i.e. Forget it.

I seem to remember a post by BM suggesting it was simple enough to make one, and since I found a photo of a mechanism, I thought I'd post it here in case anyone wants to make their own.

Still looking for a suitable vehicle with the right cost / value. If nothing else, it will make me finally get rid of the original F55 legrests!

There is a guy in Israel on ebay who sells EZ locks for about $600 USD + delivery to anywhere.
