No idea. But trust me when I tell you its better to buy outright. All the expensive mobility vehicles have huge advance payments on the motobility scheme.

Plus you are only renting the thing. For the same price or slightly more you get to keep it and its yours... As well as your mobility allowance.

We've managed to secure some hefty financial assistance, so we won't have to pay the advance payment out of our own pockets, ( not that we could afford it anyway  ) depending how much it is of course. Bearing in mind the bekker starts at 27 grand advance payment, the Colorado will prob be around 20. I'll pick up the phone tomorrow and find out.

Let me give you an idea...

My brand new Left Hand Drive van was 30k delivered, or 57k for a right hand drive uk one including tie down, hand controls, delivery and import costs.

Then there is no 5 year ongoing payments at all. And I dont have to ever hand it back...

But if you wish to use motability and the "scheme" such as it is it will cost about double, and you dont get to keep it. So you have to start paying all over again in a very quick 5 years... Mines 4 years old now, looks and smells brand new and its total cost was 30k. About the same as an advance payment. And its already mine for good.

Its not quite as cheap to do that now, (there was 2 dollars to the pound then), but even so I could never afford to buy on the motability scheme!

Unfortunately I dont think you can import a US spec VW lowered floor minivan, so the 57 k price remains. But I would still put your advance money towards paying outright. Its cheaper in the end by miles.

I see what your saying but as we don't have the advance payment to find this time it probably doesn't work out too expensive, what with all the "perks" of motability. we've had our current v- class 10 years now and the maintenance cost are getting silly! Not to mention it is falling to pieces, so much for Mercedes build quality! I'm not sure we could use the advance money for buying outright, I'll look into it.

Just an update on the colarado, the advance payment is £15'300 from gm coachworks, we have ordered ours and it will be here in may, may! :o
Never mind, good things come to those who wait.
On a side note I did some calculations and in our individual circumstances it is the best solution to "rent" the colarado from motability. Others circumstances may be different. I am now looking forward to a very comfortable drive down to the south of France in august. :P
