They seem a good idea, Although if I parked in town they would disapear instantly! :x

So are they continualy pressing the valve for a reading 24-7?

Yep. Tighten well with pliers, so they are not stolen, or a dab of paint on the thread.

When running stupidly fast turbo bikes years ago, we had a strange tyre deflation problem on my rear wheel. Traced to the tyre valve getting opened by the g force of the wheel spinning at about 200 mph. So I fitted an aluminium valve cap, ptfe tape on thread. That sealed it so no more bother. But it also meant a spanner to remove the valve cap. So that would work too.

I have a tpms in my 2008 dodge gr caravan. These sensors are inside of the tire valve, they replace the valve through the rim. I have not had any issue with leaking though I did have one sensor fail and needed to replace it. There are after market kits that install in a similar fashion.
