Van carpet

Postby Burgerman » 28 Apr 2018, 11:43

I had the carpet fitter that was measuring up my house fit a custom cut cover carpet in my van. Rubber backed very stiff stiff carpet like carpet tiles are made from. It is cut to fit over my tie down, and to cover over everything else leaving a totally flat carpeted floor with no metal brackets or seat mount holes visible. Makes the van interior look huge! £70 fitted. Marvelous neat job, dark grey, ribbed, and easy to take out and clean if needed.

Will take photos if I get up today!

Now 13 years old...

Original carpet still clean. This new one replaced a lot of small mats stuck together like a jigsaw puzzle. It lifts out for vacuuming. Ramp still clean. Not really, washed and sprayed matt black a few times a year!

Wow it looks really good. I'm faced with a similar dilemma.
That was a great price by the way. Did they glue the carpet down?
I'm in the process of trying foam squares found on Amazon that you can click together
and put on my floor of the Chrysler 2014 Town & Country. They are about 1 ft. square
and includes borders.

Its rock solid, never moves. Its not stuck down as such, just cut out to fit, but its a thick unbendable rubber back. So it cant really ruck up or flex, so the vans 4 walls, the tie down, hold it very solidly in place. It lifts out to clean. Or to copy to make another!

Now has no edge visible at the doors due to this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-10mm-x-6m ... SwVWpa1HPn

Well over the weekend, I managed to get my girl to go out in the garage with me and try out my interlocking floor mat. The weather's been terrible around here on the East Coast of the US, lots of rain and humidity. My girl bitched about the humidity for an hour but she managed to get the job done. Of course I was two square blocks short. Otherwise, it doesn't look half bad. I imagine it will stay down okay because it is a sticky foam. I'll take some pictures of it when I get time and the rain stops. I don't drive, so all I need to do is the place behind the driver's seat on my 2014 Chrysler Town & Country XT BraunAbility. It doesn't have to be perfect, and I imagine the durability may not be that great. But I want to try not to have the circle that gets embedded into the floor from my front wheel drive F3 Permobil. I saw a lot of the floor damage when I was looking for used minivans. It's not really damage, just unsightly.

If someone wants to check it out you can find it on Amazon.

The T-Bar is obviously throttle.

Is the hoop bar the brake?

PS: Nice carpet. Did you have it laid throughout the bungalow as well, to replace the stuck down carpet tiles?
