Hello my name is Lee im from England, i dont use an electric wheelchair, i use a manual one but recently i got a mobility scooter to help me get out and about locally and so far its going well but me being me i want it to go faster and further and maybe better suspension, but i might need to get a different mobility scooter and start on that one, i have a few questions about modding it,
can i mod a mobility scooter like you do with the electric wheelchair?
i would like to up the speed and distance, what would i need to achieve this? is there a way to just up the speed a little for now? also can you put different wheels on them?
thanks i know thats alot of questions but im basically starting from the very basic beginning

You can mod anything. The only way to up the speed normally would be to throw away the controller, wiring, batteries, charger, and possibly the motor and start from scratch. They mostly are what they are. Esp small ones. Have a look at Chinese non mobility scooters.

You don't want lipos... They explode and burn, and only good for 100 to 200 cycles at best. You need Lithium ion Phosphate, and there's no ready to fit setup that's any good. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1813
