Howdy

Postby ghettoracer » 01 Dec 2016, 00:52

From Boston Ma. USA. I have a family member stricken with ALS and I'm here to find ways to improve is mobility and quality of life while it lasts.

Looking to build a tank-type chair due to the winter climate and rural area that he lives in... I'm not an engineer of any kind but have done some metal fabrication.

Help is always appreciated.....

Hi, welcome on board! You'll definitely find lots of great info here. I don't know too much about ALS but I do know everybody has different needs for there mobility vehicle. From the small amount of knowledge I've gained from here (I say "small" as I've lots more to learn) I've discovered that tank chairs are not really the most reliable way to go. Obviously I don't know your family members full circumstances so I might not offering the best advise but have a good look through the forums and you'll find the info to do what's best. Good luck and I hope you achieve your goals.

Welcome to the forum, that kind of project will take lots of money, time, and engineering. Good luck with it though, and post up pics for us as you progress.
