I'm an immigrant from the US, living in Germany. My Germany is ok, but not enough to read online forums (they use a LOT of slang!)

I'm a new wheelchair user, and my insurance put me in a Juvo B5 with rear-wheel drive. I only recently started driving it, because I got it during the first wave of Corona, and I wasn't going anywhere. Now I'm vaccinated and getting out into the world more. I feel like I have a lot to learn from this forum! My first few experiences were not the greatest, and I did some damage on my first solo trip that thankfully was covered by the insurance, but I'm still a very insecure driver.

I understand there are ways to change programming on some wheelchairs, so I'll have to do more reading on that, because I hate how the X-axis on my joystick is set up (when I want to go back and to the left, and have to push the joystick back and to the right, and vice versa).

Well thats one thing that you can never change unless you break the laws of physics or end up with a completely undrivable chair. Its not a car.

When STATIONARY, (or when moving backwards or forwards) the chair always turn the way you push the joystick. Because if you push it to the right, the left wheel goes forwards, and the right wheel goes backwards. It ALWAYS does this. If you ALSO push forwards then it just add x rpm to both wheel. If you go backwards it subtracts x rpm from both wheels. The turn thing is unaffected.

It isnt the cjair thats wrong. Its your car. Or neither. The car or a scooter steers differently, no tank steer or mixing is involved.

You can make many changes with programming and you SHOULD. But that change isnt possible.
