Hello From America's D!ck Beater (Michigan)

Hi All--
I'm new here... Been battling MS since 2004 and it finally put me in a wheelchair full time as of January 2020. In late 2019, I could see what was coming for me and I began my fight for a power-standing wheelchair. After many months of arguing and appealing insurance decisions, I finally won insurance approval for coverage of my AmySystems AllTrack M3 with Ascent Power-Standing, power tilt/recline, elevating leg rest, and elevating seat in July 2021. My chair was delivered last month and I've been trying to work the bugs out which lead me here. I'm married (wife 2.0) and have twin 21-month-old hellions. I also have a 22year old son and 20year old daughter from a previous marriage (wife 1.0). I'm a bit irreverent and crass at times but always in good fun and really push to fight for equality and justice for people with mobility impairments that affect their daily lives.

Where in Michigan? Ex Lansingite here (genetics prof at MSU), moved to Italy, Siena area, a bit more than 24 years ago where I continued working as a geneticist at the U. of Siena. Now retired and working on handicapper devices full time with the primary impetus being my quadraplegic, non verbal 35 year old daughter, but sharing what I do with others here as well.

Hello from America's Hands? Not sure I have ever heard that reference before. Grew up in Marquette, so that might explain my naivety.
