Hi,

I am a 51 year old parent to my son, a 19 year old young man that has quadraplegia cerebral palsy from birth.

I have registered here to try to get some help with equipment and specifically adapting a wheelchair that would better suit our needs.

Thanks for allowing me to join and I hope to gain help but also contribute to others too.

Thanks,

Anthony.

Hi Anthony,
You've definitely come too the right place. I'm just in the process of putting back together my project, all with help from the members on here. I suspect your sons needs are different than mine, as are everyone else's. You could start by describing what are the challenges your son faces and what difficulties there are with his mobility and perhaps what are the failings with his current chair and we all have failings with our chairs. Have good look at the posts and ask your questions, you'll get honest and informative advice, not only with what to do but what to start with and where to buy stuff and how to avoid pitfalls.
Anyway, welcome and good luck.

Hi Anthony, i'd just like to say hello and second what Steve has said. I found this site about a week ago and no matter what you need help with or just need to ask a question you'll get a proper honest answer from guys who have done it, not just heard about it or whatever. I needed help with fitting lights to my chair and hit a couple of hitches along the way. I was given proper diagrams to follow each time with a good explanation of what and why too, so no shady botched jobs. So like Steve says don't be afraid to ask, you'll get the best help available here. It's awesome.
