Why do the spokes point forwards on the left rear and backwards on the other two wheels? Would drive me nuts.

Speed is limited by batteries, controller, motor gearing and wheel diameter.

If you went the LiFePO4 route, you'd probably gain 2-3mph due to the higher voltage and less volts sag when taking inclines.

If those are GRP27 100Ah batteries, then you'd be able to fit 280Ah+ LiFePO4 8 or 16 cells and have 3x-4x the range you get now. And it'd last you 10yrs+ if you look after them.

I ride a Mobility scooter, I have several, a Pride GoGO Elite, a Pride Rally, an old Pride Sundancer, two Merits scooter, an Invacare 3-wheel scooter and my original Scootie. All these scooters, except for the Scootie i got for free, or for very little money, all were broken when I got them. With my electronics electrical and mechanical Knowledge, I have repaired all of them.
I am planning of opening a small non-profit business taking donated or discarded scooters, refurbishing them, and sell them to economically disadvantaged folks, charging only for the money invested on the repairs, plus a nominal fee to cover operational expenses.
I was handicapped and unable to work for three years before being finally granted SSI benefits and suffered great economic hardship because of it. I know that my experience is not unique, and that many people are denied disability benefits, because of the cruel and capricious disability denial of the Social Security officials, and I would like to help those unfortunate victims of the SS administration. I want to make a difference on these people lives.
That is my story, I hope I can carry out my plan, and perhaps bring a little relief to all the suffering they have to endure. With God's help.

Here's mine from a couple of years ago or more. It's a bit more rougher round the edges now, as it's probably got about a thousand more miles on it since that photo.
It was restricted to 12kph in programming, but is capable of a dizzying 15kph on leads!

But with a 180Ah lifepo4 pack I get a tad more top speed, can just hit 10mph on the flat in summer. And once the pack is warmed up the scooter is much more responsive on the throttle than when it was on leads. Going Lithium is definitely worth the higher initial expense.

Btw I bet the large diameter wheels on the Chopper mob scooter give a great ride? Mine is quick for a UK scooter but the 13 inch wheels and not so great suspension don't make for such a great ride imho.
