If everyone in the world had your personality, what would the world be like?

Argumentative.

You would be sort of aruing with yourself though. A bit unwinable. Or everyone would be of your opinion so all would agree!

Well the point of arguing is to argue. Who wins is not relevant. Unfortunately, reaching any kind of conclusion is irrelevant.

But yes it would be fundamentally boring if we were all the same. And there would never be any advances in culture and technology.

Why not?

I think if everyone were like me that we would see a *lot* of cultural, law, research, technology changes! Would you like a short list?

Methinks that would be a long, long shortlist once you put your mind to it!

I mean that if everyone agreed without arguing because they all have the same personality, then the first idea -crummy or not - to occur to [the person who gets the ideas] would be the one that is accepted as the fact.
I don't know who would be the one to get the ideas.

And if everyone argued for the sake of arguing, they would never finish arguing. The traffic light colours would never have been agreed on.

So having the same personality might not mean everyone agrees.

But there would be no disagreements if everyone thought the same. Purple for go, great idea!

Personally if everyone thought like me there would be no traffic lights. I dont see what they achieve. Everytime the lights are out the traffic works great and nobody waiting in lines for nothing.

Likewise, no speed limits. And no credit cards as nobody would want credit ever. Same with loans, etc. I could add another 1000 things. Like political parties, there would only be one that agreed with what everyone said. So no socialism, controlled borders so non of that muslim/sub saharan african "cultural enhancement" like stabbings and explosions or beheadings.

And there would be no rented housing... No benefits or housing benefit for the able bodied that are too lazy to work because there would BE NO such people if they all thought like me!

We would never have been in the EU and would still have most of the british empire!

Sounds like it would be a world of freedom and chaos.

Then again, that's more or less what we have as it is, but the details vary.

It would be massively richer, more tehnological, and more stable. For e.g I would insist that religion was wiped out through education. Teach everyone how to think instead of what to think. And we would have people on mars decades ago. And plenty more! For e.g. we would not be poluting seas etc, and we certainly wouldnt be wasting billions trying to put us back into the poorhouse with greenhouse gas nonsense.

The thing that made the western rich countries rich, the thing that feeds 8 billion, the thing that gives us safe healthy clean lives, the thing that dragged billions out of abject poverty was CAPITALISM and OIL/GAS and SCIENCE!

Can't agree. Everyone might have your personality but there is nothing in the rules that says they would have to have your intelligence or knowledge. They would all believe they were right all the time so there would be nothing but continuous arguments about everything - by everybody.

But thats a large part of my personality. So everyone WOULD think like me. So things like religion or anything woo woo wouldnt exist. Everyone would be just as logical and think the same way I do or they wouldnt all have my personality.

And I would never argue with me, since I know that I couldnt win. And that I was already right. So I would let them get on with whatever it was!

Its that warm time of year again. Where on sundays the (normally american) religous nuts start banging on my door in sunday best with 2 children in tow. Trying to convince me theres some imaginary mafia thug in the sky that watches you 24/7 and he has a fixation on your sex life. He is magical. He knows and can control and do anything and knows all future events. Omnipresent, omni potent, etc. He doesent. But he can. Aparently. So theres that to entertain me. First thing to ask them is can he make a rock so big and heavy that he cant lift it. While I pass around my fossil collection to his kids.

Solutions -

1. answer the door wearing (only) a towel - as they start their pitch pretend to be interested and start scratching chin, etc. while forgetting to hold onto towel... (I did this once, worked great.... )

2. Fight fire w/ fire - look up "The Other People" story (at least one version was published as a spoof "Chix" comic by the Aquarian
Tabernacle Church) and lay that on them - even if you don't buy it yourself it is a great mind warper to tell them that their god doesn't apply because you aren't in his jurisdiction....

3. Pretend to be working for the competition - tell them you are a practicing Satanist, and that you are plumb out of sacrifices - ask if the accompanying children are virgins....

If they are religious then statistically theres a GREATER chance that their children will be sexually abused and not virgins anyway. And serious question. How did they decide that god was the good one and that satan was the bad one? They are both completely immoral evil mafia style thugs and I wouldnt worship either of them even if they existed.
