Please teach me a bit English

What is the number "PZ65 BYV" in the number plate (as in the pic below) called in English? E.g "vehicle number", "license number", "plate number" or something else?

Thats a number plate with the EU thing on it. We are thank god no longer in that organization and are free.

My plates have nothing but my number. And its a personalised number.

N2O (Nitrous Oxide) and RPM (Revolution Per Minute) since I used to sell and fit nitrous systems for drag racing cars and bikes.

Yellow rear, white front. Technically and legally these have to be a certain size. And reflective so speed cameras can see them... Mine are undersized, not reflective. Because I do on occasion go too fast. Sometimes a lot too fast. And this helps!

A number plate.

On my bikes I used to remove the plate and used velcro to fit a much too small plate. With BURGERMAN on instead of the correct number. I also had others! GSX1100R, PERFORMANCE BIKES, and one with my DynoPower Logo on it.

Because going through a speed camera at 180mph or 300kph would get you a prison sentence.. And the fine for having no number plate was small. So it made no sense to display the correct number! Bikes have no front number. Velcro is your freind.

Heres a pic of it on Utube...

Does "a number plate" mean "a plate" or "a number"? Or does it mean both in English?

In Vietnamese, "a number plate" and "the number inside a number plate" are 2 different words. One means a plate, other means a number.

The number on the plate is the UK "vehicle registration number".
Every vehicle is issued with one when it first goes on the road. We can apply to change it (and pay) to a personalised number but only if that number exists, we can't make a umber up like they do in US

Thanks iainsherriff

In VN, vehicle registration numbers contain only true numbers 0-9. There are good/bad, lucky/unlucky or "king" numbers. Normally, they are randomly issued. But usually if a car owner does not pay some money for "someone", he always gets a bad/unlucky number. "Good/lucky" numbers can be auctioned. A "king" number e.g 66666 or 88888 might cost more than a super luxury car

In Spain, license plate numbers are assigned automatically.
License plate numbering can't be customized.

Here in Argentina it is like in Spain. You can't choose, they only assign it to you and we pay a bimonthly or annual tax that the government increases by wanting to collect more for its own profit.... :cussing banghead
