Hobbies...

Postby Burgerman » 03 Jan 2010, 22:13

What do other wheelchair users have for hobbies and interests? Myself I have so many interests that I have no time!

One interest is this site! Others include:

- Photography (Nikon D700 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, 1,7x Converter, SB600, HUGE MONITOR!, etc,)

- Model aircraft including Gas Turbines and Helicopters www.wheelchairdriver.com/trex-500.htm

- Building BETTER power wheelchairs! see site...

- Physics and Engineering

- Bikes (big Suzukis) before I crashed and finished up in this wheelchair 12 years ago! Now I watch...

- Beer and Young Fit Blondes...

Funny how many of those go together. Many people that do one also do ALL the rest!

You?

The photos are great - better than on the manufactures' websites
I assume the picture clarity is due to the lense quality more than anything else?

Does anyone make a good model helicopter for under 200ukp - it's for an intelligent 13 year old boy ie a newbie but not a numpty, but with not much income for repairs.

There are loads of helis.

But before he destroys anything expensive you need to get some cheap practice or a simulator.
I bought a cheap small contra rotating heli as they are super stable and fly themselves.
Called a Blade mCX its 4 chanel and so easy my gf can fly it.
Then a Blade mSR which is the same tiny indoor size but faster and harder to fly.

Both less than 100

Google or ebay for them

Then aN Align TREX 500 esp... As on my pages. much more than 200...

All parts are available fast for all three on ebay or places like fastlads, or midland helicopters (google!)

No secret. Just use a free dating site!

That way unlike your local pub/supermarket/whatever you only talk to women that have read your profile, your likes and dislikes (no fat chx, kids, over 35 etc! No point lying.) and are interested. You filter the no way candidates straight out.

The next part is sorting out the obvious scammers and so on from genuine girls. Which is pretty easy on a pay site since there are very few but harder on a free one. There are probably no girls interested in dating any specific person in your local pub disabled or not...

And even if there is you would need to talk to every female to find them... Which is not going to happen. And then she may have kids/boyfreind/husband/ or have issues with wheelchairs or disability or whatever. So its not so easy.

A good dating site filters all the relevant criterior and only girls that are genuinely interested will bother to message you. Or reply to you. Let the database do the work from millions of members, many more than you can meet in a year of clubs/pubs/supermarkets etc. Trust me it works. On the other hand you CAN meet women elsewhere, like the polish blonde I met behind the counter of the fuel station 2 weeks ago!

Does anyone know of a controller for R/C which only has 1 stick? meaning a 4way joystick? my right is better than my left, no fingers movement but i am stronger in my right. There is a R/C boating lake and a race track for cars and a flyin club all within 3 miles of me so i am itching to have a go!

For planes you can manage the two main controls (aileron/elevator) on one stick.

For boats the same. For helis you NEED all four continuously and need very good finger and joystick control as well as being able to do four things at the same time...
