Quickie P220 repair

Postby rapuone1 » 12 Feb 2015, 18:44

I was lucky enough to get a Quickie P220 paid for by medicare. I know it is a class 4 chair but i lucked out.
My right leg was amputated above the knee in 07. I have dogs so my doctor wrote me a prescription for a power chair on Friday.
On Saturday DME Depot delivered a brand new Quickie p220 wheelchair to my door.At the time it was a monthly rental but after
twelve months i owned it. It has been indispensable for the past 7 years but is starting to wear down. It seems my local wheelchair
repair place cannot find reasonable replacement parts for my chair. So i saw a new P220 on EBay which i bid on and won for 650.
I am awaiting arrival and cant wait to go 8.5 mph again. Besides Sunrise medical Supply does anyone know who can repair Quickie P220
in the Corpus Christi Texas area?

I don't know about the US. But ant keen youngster that can build a bicycle or fix the mower can sort out your chair. There's nothing very technical about stock powerchairs. But.

Can you buy the parts easily?
Can you determine what's wrong with it or what parts may be needed?

If so, pull it apart then get hold of a parts list pdf file and buy all the worn or tired bits.

i have a 220 which still works great - i use it in my home only now - but if i am not mistaken - the P220 is 6.5 mph - the P222 SE is the 8.5 mph - just so you know - if you expecting 8.5 - make sure its the P222 Se model - always double check

you can still find parts - https://www.quickie-wheelchairs.com/whe ... se-medical
