Your pilot is being rolled out as personal health budgets ! See you make a big differnce. I got a call back about my new request for direct payment from my old useless suport worker it took 20 mins to explain to her that I knew what I was asking for and why it would be better for me to control my care and how I received it.
Her response was very negative but she couldn't refuse my out wright tough I could tell she wanted too. She says she will phone next week after talking with he manager. :? Know where have I heard that line before...

Don't wait. You call her manager, explain that she is negative and that this is the government's plan and your right. And to get on with it today. And that you will call tomorrow to see what progress they have made. Don't accept being added to "waiting lists" etc., and call an OT at your nearest hospital, and your doctor and bang their heads together.

Read this, make sure THEY do, and explain that a personal budget for POWERCHAIRS too, is possible.
