Fieldmaster Wheelchairs - "Trek" All Terrain Powerchair

Postby Wheeling » 22 Feb 2014, 17:41

We purchased a Fieldmaster Trek Classic all-terrain Powerchair in June 2012 which we had to reject upon delivery as it differed from my order and had a number of flaws or faults. The company, Fieldmaster Limited, refused to address all ten issues or return our full deposit. We were advised to make a claim under the Sale of Goods Act in the small claims court as the wheelchair was not as described and was not of satisfactory quality. The judge awarded a judgment in our favour and ordered Fieldmaster Limited to refund our full deposit plus costs. However, Fieldmaster Ltd failed to make the payment to settle the claim so the case was escalated from a County Court Judgment to a High Court Writ of Fi-Fa. Ultimately, High Court Enforcement Officers (Sheriffs) enforced the judgment. It had taken us a year to get our money back. The whole experience was extremely stressful. Fieldmaster Limited are still trading. We are anxious that other people looking to buy a powerchair are forewarned as we would hate for them to go through such an awful experience. Maybe your website could record details of the CCJ as a warning. Thank you.

Status of County Court Judgment: Not paid by 4pm on 5 June 2013 so case escalated from CCJ to High Court Writ of Fi-Fa. High Court Enforcement Officers (Sheriffs) ordered to enforce the judgment.
Judgment Debtor’s Address: Merit House, Portway Road, Wednesbury, West Midlands, WS10 7DZ. Director of Fieldmaster Ltd signed a Walking Possession Agreement. Judgment enforced and Writ paid in full on 18 July 2013.

The above details can be verified by going to www.trustonline.org.uk and carrying out a “Corporate Search” for Fieldmaster Limited.

Thank you again, Burgerman, for introducing me to this great "WheelchairDriver" website.
Kind regards, Wheeling.
