Which car???

Postby Juney » 16 Jun 2018, 23:01

I have a Harrier Plus powerchair, and have just picked up my new mobility car. I was advised by the dealer that the car would be fine to carry the chair, it is the Nissan Qashqai Tekna. Guess what, I can’t get the chair in! The dealer is trying to sort it out but does anyone know what car the powerchair can fit into?

Fit in how?
Most of us use wheelchair accessible cars, or ones that allow you to drive while sat in a chair.

plenty of space.

Do you mean lifting it in? No lift? And walking and driving?

http://www.ridc.org.uk/2245 says the Qashqai boot opening is only a hole 75cm high so not a surprise really.

Try searching here http://www.ridc.org.uk/carfilter using the filter Height of boot opening measured from floor to see what is available with a bigger opening.

Thats not the only issue. The depth of the tailgate when closed, nearer the top is smaller than a chair.
