G24 BCI = 10.30" x 6.80" footprint (262mm x 173mm)

Two side by side = 262mm x 346mm

Those cells Shirley found are 174mm x 48mm footprint. Two rows of four would be 192mm x 348mm. I don't know your chair BM, but stuffing a 348mm long pack in my chair's battery area would tight!

I thought they stopped them in the US years ago. They only have the old style controllers there. No modern DX bus power modules or controllers. Only those with old round connectors and no proper program ability.

As soon as we got the new DX versions, as above, the US stopped moving forwards and continued with the old mk4,5,6 etc instead. Those are no longer made. But these above are, for the rest of the world. And a newer one with more power thats built for invacare only, and is called GB-DX2 Plus Module.

US only has old pre DX stuff, these http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... s&_sacat=0

No idea why. Some legal reason by the look of things. So its not possible to have a modern brushless system without importing one. Although the MK2 motors are the same.

Burger if I was to order one of these from the same dealer as you would you be able to help me with the prescription? Just to make sure I get the correct controller and motors.
Which site did you buy from?
What programmer would I need to program it?

Thanks for all your hard work.

You are talking about the chair?

You need an invacare dealer in northern island. Almost every dealer I asked offered 30% off so use the closest one. eg http://www.johnpreston.co.uk/2016/11/29 ... n-ireland/
The prescription form is on invacares site linked below and gone up for 2017... As for options I can help but the Storm 4 explore only has the right motors...

I added a swing away (rubbish!) an REM550 controller from another extras PDF, and power centre footplate. These are not on the prescription form. They are on a special build form. https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... Cg&cad=rja

https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... FQ&cad=rja

STANDARD BASE IS:
• Maximum user weight 150kg (23.5 stone)
• Gearless, Brushless Motors: 6km/h, 10km/h or 13km/h!
• HITEC X‐Plore rear suspension, and front castor suspension

Then select the bits you want to add.
Programming is easy, but you need a DWIZ ADAPT.

Fill in, send to the closest dealer for best price. Mine was 3 year parts warranty and I do spannering...

Thanks. Yes, I don't know how many summers I have in me so thought I would buy a good outdoor chair. The 8MPH Storm4 X-plore is looking good.

Whats the difference between these options?
ATF0017 Storm4 X-plore with True Track Plus Motors
ATZ0017 Storm4 X-plore with True Track Plus Motors Special Model

Is the torque still good on the 8MPH motors?
I will probably go with the Matrx Elite TR Back, height 500mm
With electric everything its coming out about £9500. If I can get £3000 knocked off that would be nice. I'm guessing the price is already without VAT?

I have filled out the PDF, I will email it to that dealer. http://docdro.id/1guvMNr

ATZ0017 Storm4 X-plore with True Track Plus Motors Special Model

I think special order. As in the 2nd PDF sheet with centre footplate or REM550.

Well I have had two quotes from dealers in Northern Ireland;
https://www.abilitymatters.co.uk best quote £10,010 I'm guessing thats plus VAT.
http://www.johnpreston.co.uk quote was 10% off RRP

Both tried to get my address or home phone number before giving a quote.

I have asked invacare to give me a list of dealers in Northern Ireland though I might try some dealers in England too.

You don't pay VAT!

Just email them and ask for a best price, based on your own assessment and prescription, and responsibility. Parts only etc. First few I mailed offered 30 off. They need to know you are low maintenance, and getting a few quotes for supply only.

OK, I will try them again letting them know it will be a supply only sale.
An English dealer responded to the same email with a quote of £7500 plus delivery. I doubt any dealer in Norther Ireland will get any where close to that.

On the REM550 controller, its an extra £260. What main benefit will it give me over the others and if I don't choose it which controller would be best?
The £7500 quote means I will be responsible for the warranty. How reliable are Invacare chairs and the storm models?

Thanks again.

Dunno. You need a warranty on parts at least.

REM 550?
Its got pretty pictures, lets you see what you are controlling, for seating or lights etc. And what you have chosen. So it makes life simpler. Other than that very little difference. Take a look at the Dynamic website for a look.

Also test drive a brushless chair before you buy. They are an acquired taste! Hard to explain. Different. Low starting torque, less easily programmed to do as you want.

Looks like I would go for the G90A joystick. The one with the screen is nice and all that but I would probably end up breaking it.
The only chair I have ever used is a MWD quickie salsa. I will have zero chance of trying a brushless chair before buying one so you have me a little worried BUT I don't think I would be as fussy as you are over the programming. I think I could get used to anything. One thing that does worry me is the starting torque, thats one good thing about this 4MPH chair, I believe it would climb a vertical wall from a standing start.

One more thing to trouble you with  I would for sure want to do the mod for a better charger connector. There is also a 50 50 chance I would go lithium, is there a good charger I can buy that can be used on the batteries that come with the X‐Plore and could also be used on a self build lithium pack?

Its a good looking chair. Have you had a chance to give it a good test drive? What do you think of the new brushless motors? Hows the torque? I found a local dealer about 30 miles away whos more sensible over options a price.

Yes. They feel different! Dont know how to explain. Theres little to no feedback or feel. So they can feel unpredictable at times. Try one! You will love it or hate it. I do know the batteries last about twice as long in the day. Esp long distances.

May be you have tuned up every acceleration / deceleration to MAX , like you did with the brushed .

I wouldn't .

You can get as precise as you want , if you have good hand . Your hand is the limit .

It does start a bit too vigorous , as the deadband is wide .

Once it started , I back the stick a bit and try not to let it stop . Then, I can do millimetre by millimetre , even with 100% forward speed preset .

Please help me watching over ebay for this baby .

If not it steers like a drunk...
I am used to a chair that begins to turn at the exact controlled rate I choose, instantly, like my mouse/car does and stops turning and steers at a different rate if I increase turn or decrease it instantly. If it doesn't do this or hesitates, or continues to turn, it goes where the hell it chooses, rather than where I choose!

Around the 0.01mph speeds, and stopping, or zero turning, stalling, etc it becomes very vague and inaccurate. The earlier brushless chairs are the same. I have a Storm 3 too. Its the nature of these brushless motors. I am used to razor accurate RC helis etc. If theres a 0.1 sec delay, thats a called a crash! The heli must do as its told, and stop doing it instantly when its told in absolute real time. My PG chairs do this almost as well as my helis. Once programmed. The problem stems from the starting torque and from the lack of positional accuracy of a stopped motor. You can feel it figuring out which way, and trying to be smooth. Its not that its bad. Its just different, with no real feel or feedback. Bit like a gyro turned up too high.

Maybe I am just picky!!!

True Track 2 Plus.
40 percent better torque than previous version, 125A according to programmer. Better connections, and slightly lighter. Still have stupid 1.75 rim width! Easily fixed fortunately.

Download the prescription form and see what all the options are. But yes you could. But it kind
of defeats the purpose of the entire way the chair is designed around the seat lift!

It would be like buying a fork lift truck and not ordering the lift part. The batteries are located where they are to allow the central lifter to go where it is for eg.

i realize that but without the column the seat could really go back and the chair could be shortened could it not? by the way any of the roboteq brushless controllers any good for a possible conversion to 48v?

by the way I have an old ortopedia (now meyra) chair called All Around 970. it has all the features including 50cm scissors type seat lift. It was useful at the time but with my arms getting weaker i find it less so. however i find the fact that is so low to the ground that i can get under most tables still very useful.

Without the column theres no place to fit a seat? The thing that stops the seat going back is the footplate/tyre collision, and the power centre footplate/seat tilt mechanism.
