Good ones on XPS 13!

Better still on the del 7370, and proper buttons and your noise is the CPU fan. It overheats as its full of dust. This doesn't have one!
It does have gorilla glass 3600 x 1800 touch screen, carbon fibre everything, and a PCIe M.2 drive, and mobile internet, gps, etc. And the smallest lightest 13 inch laptop anywhere. And its small enough to treat like an envelope.

nice but not needed to just do basic stuff and charge my chairs with - the noise i dont think its CPU Fan - its on the lower right hand side and only makes the noise when using the Video now - audio etc, -

apps seem a bit sluggish also - trying to start the charger software taking more time than before - i have a update which i have to reboot - maybe thats something - after i finish charging - i will reboot

i still want a 2nd one now to be safe - i cant not have one for weeks now - when i send this one in for service - not even 6 months - :x :x

Fan not working right = hot cpu = slow aps and noise. As does having 30 services and background stuff running you dont need. Get rid of all the metro aps, auto everything, auto updates, auto indexing, auto virus checking, auto 20 other things... data sharing, network searching and so on, and all the rest. CPU should read 0% always at idle, and no disk activity. And your battery life will double. And heat will vanish. You should be using under 2gb memory at idle.

The Creators Update has over 90 background processes unless you tweak it. I have managed to get it down to under 70. According to MS the more processes running, the better stability :?

Dell are fast! At least here. If I have a laptop problem they send the replacement next day, and then I send the faulty one back. Or a small issue, they send an engineer that repairs it withing 48 hours at your place. Super efficient. Its why I use dell. Thats business stuff. Open a business account.

I have 2 30 inch monitors here. Only because they shipped the new one, after 3 years for a faulty USB, and never actually collected the old one. So I fixed it...

i dont have that service here - didnt pay for that extra serivce - anything Brand New today - shouldnt have to worry about it getting extra protection -

i would have to ship mines to them and get it back in a week i think they told me last time - i have the box it arrived in -

but i noticed something - the message i get at boot - stating it cant reconigize the charger - so there fore my battery may not be charging and the system will adjust its power according -

so i think maybe its just a charger issue - and the system is not working full power because of that - i have a new charger arriving tomorrow - amazon -
will see if that solves that issue -

or maybe a bios update - - if not - its going to be shipped back to Dell - after i get a spare to use in the meantime -

video is choppy and frezzing up - something is up with that - didnt do that before

Dell ProSupport provides:

•24x7 phone and remote access to advanced level technicians
•Collaborative support for select third-party hardware and software vendors
•Next Business Day On-Site Service After Remote Diagnosis with options for same day available
•"How to" support for popular software applications
•Ability to bypass scripted phone troubleshooting and instantly dispatch parts or labor using Dell Online Self Dispatch (certification required)
•Single point of contact for escalation management with self-identify severity levels
•Global Command Centers to manage critical situations, monitor all mission-critical on-site dispatches and provide proactive crisis management during events such as natural disasters.

I don't have that. But normal normal business warranty is next working day repair or replace. 1 year included, and 2 or 3 or 5 year options at extra cost. They shipped a new 30 inch monitor next day overnight. And repaired my mouse buttons, changed laptop keyboard in 3 days after a call next day. Not this one the previous one.

That sounds like the CPU is downclocking because of a heat issue or too many background processes running causing the laptop to freeze. I would've thought a low end 7th gen CPU can play youtube videos with ease.

i think i solved the issue actually - the message about the system not knowing what charger is used etc, during boot - i noticed it was not plugged in ALL the way in the computer - i mean it was just a bit more it needed to go - it was unplugged at some time and i guess didnt get pushed in all the way - not enough - it worked but gave me that message during boot - and also lowered its power CPU i guess - something was off

the video not being clear and freezing - was very strange and its OK now - after i plugged it in good - and also removed the audio driver which was installed - now its fine at least last night it was - strange i dont recall doing anything with drivers before -

either way i got a new charger cable for it on amazon - a bit more power and dozens of different ends for use on many items - universal kind of charger -

Used no idea! Battery life depends greatly on configuration and on previous treatment. EG I never charge mine above 80 percent configured in bios. So battery is as new 2 years on.

Also mines a 7370 so almost identical but carbon fibre shell, and lower power mobile processor. And bigger battery. So its swings and roundabouts. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Dell-Lati ... 492.0.html
