they're great results Shirley cheers

So looking at the graphs, you don't want to go below 3.16v discharge voltage. Is that right?

Hi Shirley_hk,

Could you please post the internal resistance of the cells.

Thanks.

These connectors are cool . Regret that they don't have thinner ones

Instead of punching holes in that braid (cutting the strands), you can use an awl to spread apart the strands to create a hole - just as one often does with braided shields on cables. For cables, you pry apart the braid to make a hole then fold over the cable and pull all the wires through the hole. That leaves the full cross section area of the braid for grounding the shield. The tinned braid seems like a good bet to me, but you might want to also solder the last couple mm so that it can't unravel. If you clamp it near the end with a hemostat or similar the solder won't wick up and ruin the flexibility of the braid.

That's really preferable to retain full braid, if I could spread it to stick a M6 bolt through .

Scooterman , would you like a metre of it in your shipment too ?

Cup washers with cable entry are good for bare cable termination.

They were always used on the old fashioned electrical switchgear before the advent of crimp terminals.

NB: just in case.... cup washer goes on bottom with flat washer clamping down on top of copper core.

Hello Shirley, I'm not sure about clamping down on the fine braided strands, sometimes the fine strands can get crushed or caught in the bolt threads.

Personally I think the ready made braided copper shunts are better, if they can be bought in correct length?

These are just an example, I've not read the details.

The solid copper bus bars have me learnt a lesson . The harder the bus , the worse contact I would get .

The aluminum battery terminals refrain me from tightening the bolts with full strength . That's a dilemma . drunk2

I agree, especially as cells will move slightly when going over bumps. Short rigid links wont have any 'give' (flexibility) leading to bad contact, not good

What about buying round braid and soldering a lug on each end like this?

Why not simply Anneal your copper bus bars ... just heat till red and then leave to cool .

This style of links are laminated. And I was wondering whether the hump in the middle allows for some slight flex under vibration? :problem:

You can just make your own cables - may come out even better than buss bars in the end - takes a bit more time but works when all else fails

Still too strong . Won't help at all. It's stronger than the aluminum terminals we have .

i figured it would be - a bit confusing between the specs and picture - i wasnt sure - no big deal - i dont see myself needing one with large packs - it would be just for fun to have but not really needed.

They look great.
Have you got any links to the parts you used dude?

I waited a week so the guy could get the connectors. Now how he tells me it will be another 2 weeks :cussing
So I told him to send the cells asap.

Couldn't agree more . Just install a 4-digits voltmetre. Everyday use will tell all you need .

Have it ON all year round . Won't drain your 180Ah at all.

It saved my chair once , when I noticed exceptional big voltage drop. I stopped and checked. It was the piggy trolley wheels broke and grinding the floor HARD . Chair went as fast as usual with helper standing on it. Would have blown chair's PM, if I didn't see that voltage drop. cheers
