I can use my disabled bus pass on London buses but I don’t think I can use it on the tube?

If it works on TFL buses it should work on the tube, I'd expect. Who issues it?

Freedom Pass is issued by London Boroughs and is basically a London Travelcard, plus it works as a free bus pass outside of London.

I think Scooterman lives outside the M25 so will probably have just the free bus pass element. This only gives free travel in London on buses.

My HP Charlie Card gets me half price rides on the 'fixed route' service Subway and Bus services in the MBTA system, and LRTA, I've been told it is supposed to work on other systems in the state, but haven't tried it...

However it does not work on Commuter Rail, and ironically also does not work on 'The Ride' our 'book in advance' door-to-door shuttle service...

It is a rather ironic name for the card, as it comes from a protest song written many years back in response to a fare increase that required riders to pay both getting on and OFF the subway.... It bemoans the fate of a guy named Charlie who didn't have the extra nickel needed to get off, so he had "To ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston" - so now the MBTA uses it as the name for their payment system....

Very pretty. Lots of very old and abandoned houses, and almost no traffic or people. Slow speed life. Nobody in a hurry. That no longer exists in most of the world. How do they make a living? I always wanted to visit vietnam. Before it all becomes modernised and hectic. Where ARE all the people? There are washing lines, and stuff, nobody around. Dogs sleeping on roads, free roaming cows, etc. There would be death, police cars, and rules here!

Yes, mountain villages are very sparsely populated. People usually have to walk a dozen km to meet a house. Their life is simple and slow with a subsistence agriculture. They grow rice, corn and breed buffaloes, cows just enough for food (not for goods). They do not care about money or buying or selling as the life in the city. At that time, maybe people were working in fields on mountains or going into jungles to find vegetables, firewood. People here are extremely honest. If coming here, you never worry about thieves. You can leave your bike or car along the road over night or even in a week and it will remain. Nobody will touch it.

if someone asks you for the Time here in NYC - you better be alert - most likely going to rob you haha - or its some set up etc,

everyone has a phone that shows the time so no need to ask - but as bad as you hear - its not that bad here - have to be alert 24/7 though

Years ago my first wife's father had his car stolen from in front of his house in Brooklyn. It was found a day later in front the local police station, up on blocks with five wheels and the battery gone. On the other hand, in a different, less well-to-do, part of Brooklyn, my dad almost never locked the car and the house was also rarely locked. The difference perhaps was that my FIL lived in a neighborhood of well-separated single family homes with largish lawns while my family lived in a row house with lots of people almost always out and about.

My Family came here to the States and we lived in the Bronx ever since - Back then - it was the best - growing up there was great

All italians and the safest place you can live - never locked house doors - cars - nothing - it was well protected - not by the Police

back then - no uniform cops in the area and no police cars at all - ONE undercover Cab. with two undercover cops - that everyone knew and that was it -

the movie - The Bronx Tale - thats where i lived and loved it back then - aside from Racial stuff - i didnt participate in that - but nothing i could do to stop everyone else from -

Now at some point - the DA started to crack down in this area and ever since then - Uniform cops walked around - police cars etc, and what do you know - the area went downhill ever since -

with the cops it went to shit - with out them - it was fine - slowly all races started to show up - and there you go - good bye -

two summers ago - i made the ride with my chair there to go visit after maybe 15 years - not the same place anymore - didnt like it -

all thats left is a few blocks all around with all the Italians stores - food etc, Market, Rest. - but other than that - i feel much better where i am now in the City -

The only real way to get good smooth video is to use a gimbal that works with your camera. Not easy rigging it for the chair but not impossible.

It may seem that way, but often you'd wish they'd move quicker. I see Victoria station (an old stomping ground of mine) still has its share of the following:

• Mobile phone statues - people so engrossed in their phones they are oblivious to the wheelchair about to run them down;
• Mobile phone zombies - as above but moving in a seemingly random fashion to as to be always in your path;
• Wheelchair blind #1 - those that refuse to see the (usually stationary) wheelchair they are about to walk into;
• Wheelchair blind #2 - those that see the wheelchair but reckon if they avoid eye contact it won't hit them;
• Chancers - those that believe the closing gap between a 150kg+ wheelchair and a stationary object, e.g. wall, street furniture, etc. is an invitation to show their athletic skills (and then wonder why it hurts);
• Toe Crunchers - those that insist on encroaching into my personal space, e.g. in lifts, such that their toes end up under the wheels. They usually only do it once though

List devised by me and 6y old granddaughter. Feel free to add your own...

Those people that think you can move sideways to get past them or objects.
And the ones that think they can hold or lean on your chair in a lift or a pub etc. I usually reverse into those by mistake, hard.

Or the ones that think they can lift you up a 12 inch step. With 130kg me, 180kg chair! By the joystick...

Or the cars that suddenly stop in a busy road to "help". They mean well but they are likely to be killed, and so are you as some van comes flying past her stopped car as you cross. Happens daily. Some dont have a brain and are baffled as to why you are trying to wave them on.

Or the ones that put their hand on the joystick as they bend over to talk. And destroy themselves or a group of people/tables behind you. My chair responds when you touch the joystick NOW! And they KEEP doing it because too stupid to figure it out.

You're certainly adventurous! I've attempted to some mild off-roadz stuff but even with my Puma's suspension that would probably spasm me out of my seat!

Must find my 'sports cam' (supposedly 1080HD go pro clone bought for £25 special offer but never tried it, so probably crap)

brand etc, do you use heated long Johns , jackets - socks and gloves - i like to try them also - may give me some extra winter time outside if they keep me warm enough.
