Pretty much the same as the sunrise chairs. Nothing special. But thats good. No prices.

One important thing, they are available in the US? Because if so then they offer a rear drive chair option. Much like the salsa. Whats more unlike the likes of pride and permobil and their restrictive practises, they do not deny that a OEM programmer exists. In fact they have it there to dowload RIGHT IN THE WEBSITE.

Companies like pride and permobil and invacare etc etc should take a lesson from this. Because I for one would never buy a chair from any manufacturer that DIDNT offer this.

Now if tim is here, (rollpositive) this is EXACTLY why I mention this stuff when it came to the new permobil chair. These also offer the same 30km grp24 range too. So its not about me being old or negative. Unless they DESERVE IT! And permobil do. Pride do and many others do.

As for prices, no clue. Definitely worth a look. Not enough info or details on the website. I cant even figure out where they are made. If the price is right, and they will do a centre footrest, and the design allows me to move the seat back to get a sensible CG then I may buy one. Because everything else is just configuration. And no a test drive wouldnt tell me anything useful until I configure properly and correct all the issue after buying one.

£4995 with VAT Relief and 4 pole as stock. But not enough info as to what that includes. It includes 4 pole and batteries and charger. But other than that who knows. We need a prescription form. Not an "assessement" because I already know what I want. I want to see it physically, and see what the options are. To see if its suitable and still affordable. And to see what deal I can do.

Centre power footrest is an option. Seating may be included in that 5k price. It only shows a few alternative headrests and controls etc. That web site is painful to deal with and not enough info.

But the casters apear to be far enough apart to relocate a centre footplate back between wheels partly. So seat relocation rearwards for CG looks possible too. And there in no obvious 120A Rnet option, only the weedy 90A one. But who cares I have three of those here...

I will call them in a few weeks as I am looking for a chair. So we will find out what deal is possible. I just downloaded the OEM level software from their site. Its a current version. I already have it, but thats not the point!

LOOKS like the best current wheelchair choice for REAR DRIVE currently available. Almost identical to the Sunrise Salsa with easier options, same sort of cost.

Well I found a copy of the prescription form. And spoke to a random dealer who offered a decent discount on the prices in this form that he sent me.

So then. This looks to be a good bet for a current rear drive chair with decent build quality according to Rover. And discounts can be had.
According to the form, attached, its possible to configure the following options (at least!).
-AMT motors
-120A R-net power module.
-Advanced colour joystick with Infra red and BT etc.
-Centre power or centre non power footplate. And seperate centre footplates. And footplates that go to the floor powered. All of which are length adjusting etc.
-6.2mph (10kph) 4 pole motors. Or for those that prefer low torque faster 8mph (12.5kph) 4 pole.
-lift up or far better single post removable arms.
-Lift.
-Tilt. 45 or 60 degrees.
-Recline
-Various backs, arm tops etc.
-78Ah grp 24 batteries.
-various wheel and tyre options both ends.
-8 or 12A charger choice.
-lights
-front, rear, mid drive...
-many other options.

No one off permobil style parts or programmers. And OEM level software free to download directly on the site.

Now if permobil stopped using their own replacement parts and programming/firmware, stopped lying about OEM programmers being non existent, stopped forcing us to use them to attempt to fix chairs or program them. And halved the prices, I might be interested.

THIS one reason that I am negative towards permobil. And positive towards manufacturers like this one.

All that remains is to find decent images, or see in person to assess if it can be configured or adjusted to give the correct seating/CG position/ ground clearance, and if things like arms can be removed in the way I need to transfer. And to assess things like wheelbase, etc.

Because once programmed PROPERLY, and once seating is positioned correctly for me, and once CG is is correct, and once the fine details such as controller positioning is corrected then every rear drive chair is indistinguishable from each other. If you get all the seating and CG and control pod positining and programming matched, you could blindfold the user and there isnt any way to tell one chair from the other.

And thats why TEST DRIVING one is totally pointless and will not help you decide which is the best chair. Small detail positional or CG or other changes is the only difference there is, but those things make a huge difference to your "test drive". Its more important to know how a few important parameters LOOK from an engineering point of view.

For e.g. if the two front caster arms are too close together as on many front drive chairs, you CANNOT move the seat rearwards and use a centre foortplate. Not enough space. So those chairs like the NEW Sunrise R500, R700 are never going to feel right. Too long, too nose heavy etc. Thats why I chose the Salsa instead. Better wider frame at the front allows this seat / centre footplate to work in relocation of the seat.

Some chairs have no 4 pole motor option. (permobil are LOW impedance but 2 pole cheap chinese Linix like many other chairs). Some have no 9 or 10 inch caster option. Etc. Those things all rule out a chair. Same with control systems. Today ONLY the true 120 R-net is an option. Because of programming. And torque. That means true R-Net not a permobil'ized customized or home build seating or gyro or joystick one. Everything else is all simply hype and marketing. And fluff like aps. or "features" ... That answer a question nobody asked.

To those that seeem to think a powerchair runs on magic and that newer "modern" versions every 2 or 3 years are somehow better. They should take a few chairs apart. They are all identical. Have been for a decade or so. Bar some marketing bullshit.

Appears to be a non issue here.
9 inch castrers, rearward seat, and centre footplate.

The difference between this and the non existant (yet?) permobil rear drive chair is:

-4 pole german made AMT motors. Permobil 2 pole and chinese.
-Stock R-Net electronics That I can both program and get spares for peanuts (got 3 full sets already!) on eBay. Unlike permobil... All locked down and silly pricing.
-All parts available at sensible cost to me. Unlike permobil who will only allow themselves or dealers to do this - usually badly at great expense.
-All seating, centre footplate, and other options all available on prescription form.
-GRP24 and 12A charger. So simple to retro fit 200Ah lithim with no modification.
-Cost! Like sunrise in the EU at least. Competitive pricing. Approx half permobil for exactly the same thing... Only better.

This will likely be my next chair in the event I get a sensible price. This or another Salsa.
