Those are hobby/toys drivers. OK for very small stuff. Easier with a screwdriver.

If you really want to use it on nuts/bolts allen screws on your chair etc, you need an inpact driver thats a little bigger. They are recoil-less and easy for your girls to use too.

Search impact wrench.

So maybe just a good screw driver set manual. I had one impact never used it gave it away years ago. I have a drill corded too large. My screwdrivers r not good. So I figured something with power. Maybe just stick to manual set. Then

Have a small 12V lithium bosch impact wrench. Use it for every damned thing. Van, hobby, woodwork, stripping powerchairs, tiny 1.5mm upwards allen key hex head driver up to 10mm bolts... screwdrivers, bolts, drill, everything. Its small, light, and brushless. Enough battery to work for hours.

Same size as the one I linked to. But less power and brushed motors rather than brushless. So less run time and more to wear out. But cheaper. Not syre why you need the normal drill one though. Esp if you have a drill.

The impact ones are good for drilling, too. And are torqueless so easier for your girls to use. If it were me I would get the brushless 12v tool, with 3Ah battery, and impact version only. I have both. Never use the drill version much now. At least on powerchairs. Used it yesterday with a hole saw to cut a hole in my lexan body truck for the camera to see out. Impact driver is less throttleable and wrong tool for that.

Having that drill that you never used doesent mean its a waste of money. I have many tools, special sets of ends for doing phones and obscure screws, hobby stuff, hole saws in many diameters, step drills, centre drills, and every possible allen/socket/hex/screwdriver bits. Because they are there waiting. Till that frustrating job turns up where you NEED that adapter/drill/left handed long screwdriver or iphone tri bladed end or whatever. I have lots of space. Tools are invaluable for that time you NEEDED the tile cutter or the dremmel large diameter allow saw blade or whatever. Good tools and varied options are invaluable. Likewise I have dozens of types and sizes heatshrink, tapes etc. Self amalgamating, fabric, ptfe slippery coating, and parcel, masking, insulation, etc. I have velcro, cable self adhesive clips, spanners, grips, wire strippers, soldering irons, gas torches and disposible small torches/lighters with turbo flame. And endless boxes of stainless bolts and screws and washers, spacers, rod ends, metal and carbon tubes/bars, and small cutters and grinders. Also cables on reels, and bags of terminal connectors, andersons, and other wiring stuff. A dozen different types of epoxies and superglues, wood and contact glues.

So I can repair, build, make, cut, solder, rivet, repair or desighn anything from jet engines to wheelchairs or cars. Or hobby stuff. All aquired over years. Including pillar drill, lath, and 12V cordless drills, impact drivers, saws, grinders etc. AC percussion masonary drills. And drills and taps in every metric size possible inc some left hand thread ones. Theres little I cant fix or design or make. Braze, or solder. Even aluminium. Of course if space is a problem your mileage may vary. I have a 4 bedroomed house, tons of storage places, and a large carpeted heated garage. And a lath and tools in my bedroom... And a seperate room for mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, plant pots, bags of compost etc. Maybe only 10% will ever be used. That isnt the point though its there when I do need it. And buying in bulk for many items, or buying decent tools isnt expensive long term.

They are.

Its your lefty delusions and lack of any understanding of why capitalism always works for everyone and socialism always fails dismally every single last time it's tried thats your problem. And a willfull ignorance of the facts. And this is so easily predictable by anyone with a clue in perfectly obvious (to me) ways.

Theres 60 plus examples of where I was right.
Theres no examples of were you were right. All have gone.

And yet I am wrong!

For us in this house, that's me and my old mother, we got an impact drill and it is a bit too heavy for us so we hate using it. It might be different if we were actually drilling a lot, but the tool was intended for screws mainly and a bit of drilling use. So I got a usb screwdriver afterwards and a tiny drill bit for for making pilot holes in wood. I use that screwdriver all the time - the manual screwdrivers and the big heavy impact driver go unused. Here's what I got: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Profes ... B000R5I86Q
And the screwdriver: https://smile.amazon.co.uk/Electric-Scr ... B0837F9CZW
I can't be doing with big tools. It probably won't do for drilling, except only in soft wood where it's much nicer than my rotary tool is - which is probably because that bit I got is nicer than my rotary tool bits. But next time a want to drill, I'll try drilling with the screwdriver because of its weight.

Big heavy impact drivers are only needed for somene fitting kitchens or other industry. But the little 3.7V screwdrivers are too far the other way. OK for hobby stuff. Thats why I bought the in between 12V bosch tools.

It really was overkill, that impact thing. It was hardly any easier to use than a manual screwdriver, because of its weight. The 3.7V one won't produce much torque, but if it needs a lot of torque for anything I'm doing, then I would guess I'm probably doing something wrong, or to torque up I'd use a hand tool.

Yes thats why you need one of these in your life. It has enough torque to remove the wheels from my van. 12mm thread. Its just 1kg light, and 5.5 inches long. The battery isnt a huge foot, its in the handle. Its 2 inches wide at the widest point. Has a light, and it is a hex drive. This is in between your big impact one and the small screwdriver. And very controllable. It can drive 4 inch screws into wood, or work on tiny m2.5 allen screws on my RC stuff.

Yes, I have all 3... The impact one gets the most use. Then that grinder. Its light and easy on your bench. I use it to cut of cables, bolts, shape a bit of metal, regularly. Very handy. Cuts stuff like butter. The impact is fast if you have say a RC truck like mine. Just swapped a plastic gearbox for a metal one. There are maybe 50 long thin allen screws at least to get everything apart. It wizzes them out in seconds. Or under a second. One after another. Then back in. I tighten final part by hand. It makes a thing that should take 2 hours take 20 mins.

I sprayed the grey bit on my grinder satin black. Because it looks better! I am a control freak. I open parcels with it too.

Get the hex drive one.
And a set of long allen bolt ends from 1.5mm to the biggest on your chair. Also get a set of all the screwdriver bits. And a mini pin vice type hex chuck for tiny drills. And a set of 0.3 to 1.5mm drills... And more like a 3/8th and 1/2inch socket driver.

I like the driver in your link, the payment options are very appealing... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Professi ... CKQ8GN2ZZN but I am confused about the wrench/driver difference. Which one is for what?

Please tell me it doesn't really take 2 hands to change bits!

I'd need the battery and charger - I know I can sometimes be quite a simpleton, but I don't know what to look for, so I can't find them.

I've had the Bosch 12V platform of power tools, since around 2014 and still using the same two batteries. Never had any failures despite being dropped many times.

The same impact driver is available either as a 3/8th drive as in square for sockets or an extention. And with the far more useful hex drive setup. Which is better for almost everything. If you even need to have a 3/8 or 1/2 drive you can just use an adapter.

You can do that adapter the other way around too. But it makes it "wobbly" and less secure and longer. So less useful.

If you were a car mechanic you would buy the 3/8th square drive.
Everyone else should buy the hex wrench. Its the standard 6mm or 1/4 hex drive.

Changing bits I can do with one hand. You pull the collar back (light spring) to release. Or use a simple magnetic holder.

You are all gonna think I am ocd now but I like good tools, and have every need covered...
Attachments
10th.jpg
Every drill size here from 0.3mm upwards...
adapters.jpg
Adapters to let me fit 1/4 or 3/8th or 1/2 drive sockets or other tools to the percussion driver. Also every allen head hex size too.
drill.jpg
This is brushless, very powerful and tiny. And there is a 3/8th chuck, as well as the 1/3 inch one that is fitter. Useful to have a tiny drill with a 1/2 inch chuck sometimes!
drills.jpg
Drill bits. Every size... in .1mm steps.
driver.jpg
The most useful tool I have. Almost everything here fits directly other than drills. And some drills are also hex drive too!
grinder.jpg
Tiny easy to use grinder, with a disk for every eventuality from opening the mail to cutting 20mm steel.
holesaws.jpg
You need holesaws! Well I do. This isnt all.
masonary.jpg
These are hex drive alloy, steel, wood and masonary hex drive bits. Not cheap! And a few screwdriver and other bits.
taaps.jpg
Dormer taps. Inc some left hand thread ones from 2 to 12mm and a few pipe threaad and other odd ones. These taps are eye wateringly expensive but work beautifully for 30 years now. On a lathe, drill, or by hand. Quality remains long after the price was forgotten.

Well when things crop up I have a need for some. But I prefer to be armed and ready. You never know what you will need.

Not shown lath and many lath tools etc, pillar drill, AC hammer and large percussion masonary drills and bench grinder, buffing wheel, vice, G glamps, many sets of hand tools like spaners and sockets, and hammers, grips, pliers, side cutters, circlip pliers, and 101 other things. Inc torque wrenches, and abrasives, sealers, loctites, paints, sealers, gasket materials, brazing and soldering equipment inc alloys, pain strippers, electroplating tank albeit small!, bench supplies, various saws, polishes, etc etc. The cost of all that would be huge. But it happened over maybe 45 years. And still happens! Today I binned a couple of less than new screwdrivers that no longer grip screws properly. To be replaced asap!

I once caught the wife of a friend in the act....

of opening a can of paint with one of my screwdrivers.
We had a short discussion about the difference between a pry bar and a screwdriver. One is a lever. The other is for turning things.

I use a Dewalt 20vmax impact for everything. Watch out using an impact on socket head bolts though. Mine loves to strip 'em. I use 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" adapters in mine. I also have a 1" impact for the tough stuff. I stay away from power drills (not the same as impact) for the most part because they can be quadriplegic arm breakers.

I have trouble holding things in my hands. After a bit of research, I concluded that any of the major brands would functionally do the job for me. I went to several home centers and tried holding every impact driver and drill they had. The one that fit my hand the best is the one I bought.

I got the DeWalt 20 volt driver and drill package purely because of the shape of their handle. They have exceeded my expectations.

Ball ended - not if tight.

And a set of non ball ended ones. Designed for impact. Imperial and metric. You likely will never need imp though. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... le_o02_s00

And a set of these for sockets https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171757404373 ... SwPhdVMNP1

There are also impact hex drive screwdriver bits, drills, and 101 other things. Take a look at my selection of goodies above - where does it end?
