On the import tariff commodity code for the VAT man anybody tied it down specifically, I've got this code, "8507600085", is that ringing any bells with others who have imported Li ion to the UK?

You see the avg speed is 14.29kph. Its max speed must be greater than 15kph because I had to run at very low speed in some dangerous roads. That great speed was achieved just by increase motor voltage from stock 21.5V to max 25V.

I just had my backup chair's battery box measured. My back-up chair is also a TDX-SP.
Unlike my primary chair, the backup chair has no elevation post so the battery space is unobstructed.
As measured, the open area available for batteries is:
9 5/8" wide x 15" deep x 9.75" high, or in metric:
244.475mm wide x 381mm deep x 246.65mm high

Every pack varies. Best to do a 2.9V discharge and then decide.

well it's that time I guess to go lithium now my gel's have given up the ghost with a best part of a year on the dumb charger before I got the Shirley have now taken their toll
having read through the entire post again I take it these are still the best choice for the conversion "Portable 3.2 Volt 200AH Lifepo4 Battery Cells Li-ion LFP Battery For Home Energy Storage"?
If so has anybody had experience from this particular supplier, what are their bolts thread craftwork, transaction professionalism etc?
Any thoughts or any alternatives much appreciated.

I was able to squeeze eight cells into the salsa R2 by moving some of the R-Net modules to the exterior of the battery area with other quickie equipment covers from other models modules ,

what do you think BM on the quote and have I screwed anything up so far?

It makes buying 2x MKs at £440 plus delivery (at 35Ah usable) look rather expensive compared to lithium with a real 200Ah usable doesent it... Never mind the throwing away every 9 to 12 months.

Lithium is around double the price, for 6x MORE Ah. And about 7x GREATER service life. Lead made absolutely no sense for a decade now at least.

If you set off with them charged, you dont need worry about voltage monitoring as you or your missus will wear out first. When you see a light or two disapear from the salsas display, you will likely already have gone to bed no matter how far you go.

Just got this reply back from Carl and it looks like they are new for this particular quote, it would be good if we could compare prices on your used supply from them if you don't mind? I know quotes are based on supply demand etc and it varies day-to-day but still.....

Terry the link you sent me at Aliexpress was a good comparison as I didn't even have any other suppliers before for the same size cells however they have a 71 day delivery compared to 40 days from this firm RJ Energy even though they are both coming from China . Shame as I thought that they might have enough stock in Poland which would have been a seven day delivery and the USA is also unavailable from them :-(.

Also RJ Energy will not charge me extra to laser weld the bolts which I'm going to take a chance unless anybody had bad experiences laser welding stainless steel bolts to the terminal posts?

Shame as I thought that they might have enough stock in Poland which would have been a seven day delivery and the USA is also unavailable from them :-(.

yup I see what you mean they are definitely used but I'm hoping he just used stock pictures and not actually the ones I will be buying but it doesn't hurt to to do my due diligence like you suggest.

The other guy has the cell swelling and had to get another sent over.

I had to buy a 6mm(3 part) tap set, as the thread did not go down enough.

Don't forget you can't buy any PL8 as yet.
So don't rush to get the cells.

You cant weld any aluminum alloy to stainless or non stainless steel. It looks like they are welding an alloy nut on top. Not good.

Hey as anyone tried lifepo4 pouches to make a battery...
SPIM08HP 3.7v 8ah 200a LITHIUM ION W/ CELL HOLDER from batterhookup. Cant find any lifepo4 cells fit my TA IQ. The grp 24 70ah are flush inside their box 21cm high 25cm length 16cm width can only found from evwest 70ah at 30mm wide fit. But cost 4k ship here then customs. Most cells are 36mm wide

The SPIM08HP are cheaper 1k could build 4x 12v batteries, fitting 25s for 200ah each

It seems that those are not LiFePO4, but Li ion - hence flammable and potentially explosive.
