Expresso's boards look like this , with the diode attached on the board .

(Wire colors of drawing altered to match what Expresso actually has.)

thanks for the pictures - i still dont know with the parts i have on hand - what i do next with them -

i have to lay them on my desk looking them over and take it one step at a time - lets say the BT module i just received

has a plug on one end with red and black wire - and green wire with a plug end - where do i plug in the red and black - and where do i plug in the green ?

if someone can show a picture of where i plug them in - and how etc, - instead of just writing words -

once i know where it goes and i get that correct - then can move to next step -

expresso, there's a few ways the BT module can be installed (I assume), but it's your job to figure out which is the best place to fit it. It can't be that hard.

Note that its a schematic. In reality the white and black wires shown at the 3 pin cinnector PLUG IN externally with your servo lead.

i dont get it - i will later post a pic of one item - wires and show me where that or those wires go with a pic also

then i can move on to the next wire etc, - if you tell me this wire goes to 24v power - that not enough - show me where that 24v power actually is - you know windows for dummy - hold my hand BM

Well I don't have a pl8 so I'm half guessing. It is a blue tooth interface to the charging process. So a person can control the pl8 from their phone or pc without having to plug a pc into the loop. It could eliminate some clumsy cabling. We should watch and listen till it comes clear. And not clutter the thread...I feel some heavy concentration and focus going on. I did ask myself the same question as you at first.

Ok for me the only thing i see i understand is the red wire from the power module i have gets soldered to the big brown Cap. on the board ?

the side away from the fuse - not the close one -

UBEC - dont know what that is - i dont have that ?

i am not near the parts i have on hand - later tonight i will lay out the parts i have which is what i believe is all that was needed - and i start that way -

Yes you do it the thing that I said looks a bit 2nd hand. Hopefully it still works. Look at the side of it marked INPUT. Cut off any plug it may have and connect only the red wire to that capacitor. Snip the other wire off. Now you have a 5v power supply.

Oh i see now - haha - this is what i mean - i called it the power module - ok so the loose red wire from this UBEC goes to the brown cap - the black one - goes no where - i can wrap it up etc, then the other end has a connector -

the BT module connectors go in there ? black and red to the UBEC - just plug them together - ?

Ok first problem

they dont fit - now what ?

the ends of the BT - are too big - they wont fit in the UBEC - the UBEC is much smaller connector holes -

Yes solder it. Remember that you will need to also cut one end off the servo lead and solder that too. And so eventually that there will be another black wire/ground going to that same pin/place. And one signal wire, to a different pin. And it will connect externally by plugging in to that 3 pin connector. And then its done!

You will need to add 1 more wire to the negative... So you might as well add both now. Never mind I give up.

2 years ago, my first PL8 failed and a friend tried to repair it. He is strongly sure that there is already a 5V source inside PL8, he measured it. I think he is right because PL8 uses an Arduino chip that requires a 5V source.

It was long time and he does not remember exactly where it locates. He only remembers maybe somewhere in one of its layers. I have a failed PL8 to test but I lost my hand control, unable to do anything physical. Could someone here volunteer to open PL8 and find out that 5V point? If we could find it, it would be a lot easier and safer to make an internal BT.

Sigh!... that is not a problem that I have ever had ...SO ...you do what you need to .

BUT DO NOT HEAT SHRINK OR TAPE OVER THE BLACK SOLDERED CONNECTION.
