The Q700R has been modded and finished. Other than 200Ah lithium.(I will do the Salsa and the Q700 at the same time. I have only tested it 5 or 6 times indoors, and up and down the street and in the driveway, and once into town and back. It still needs a bolt for the van. As does the Salsa.
Works OK. I dont like that stupid swinging rear axle (sprit level technology!) thing. I am going to bolt it up solid. Which is simple to do. It still has 4 wheel independent suspension. That swinging thing is marketing bullshit that makes the chair behave weird! It was a great idea when the stock chair is super nose heavy. The chair angle tries to follows the level of the ground that the FRONT casters and all your eight were/are on. The swinging rear axle thing allows the rear tyres to maintain ground contact.
And when you move CG back over rear wheels thats wrong! When you fix the daft CG issue that all rear drive chairs have from new, it doesent work.
The original idea was that on the usual wildly nose heavy chair, instead of lifting a rear wheel of the deck over a tree root, or uneven surfaces or at the top of a ramp and turn, and losing traction/control. The rear swinging (spirit level marketing) axle moves to maintain rear wheel ground contact and so control.
But its not needed with centre footplate and seat located rearwards. Because its a CASTER that lifts in those situations. You are sat over the rear. Which doesent matter. The 4 wheel independent suspension takes care of that anyway. What it does do is allow "body roll" like a car. As now the casters (and so chair angle) have less weight over them. So it feels odd. When I get chance, two M8 short bolts will cure that!
Other than that it feels EXACTLY the same as the Salsa.
BM2 are all knackered and abandoned. BM1 (an unused new one!) is used for driving and in van. Since its 100kg lighter! BM3 has been waiting for a new motor for years but pressure sores and time has so far not let be deal with it athough I have 2 new motors ready. But my biggest issue is that now it looks like age and pressure sores are forcing me to use a chair with lift/tilt/recline/power legs most of the time. So I have to have a big heavy chair that feels like a wobbly jelly in comparison to my light taught BM chairs, just to stay out of this bed!
So not sure whats happening right now!
