For 3x the price of that charger/power supply you can get a half decent chair on eBay. You could do that, then send the bill to your socialist government. Who wont be able to pay it as they will be in masive debt. Funny how socialism claims to help those in need at the bottom of the pile. Yet always ends up doing the exact opposite because everyone except the elites at the top are poor.

So what brand are these copies of? The 2nd link says a Curtis Enable light controller.

They are not copies at all. ALL wheelchair manufacturers other than in some specialised cases, do not make controllers or much else.

They all use a common pool of suppliers for motors, controllers, bolts, shafts, tyres, rims, cushions, bearings, loom parts, etc etc. SOME make SOME of theit own seating parts, some are from a common bunch of suppliers, non make the tech bits like actuators etc those also come from a common pool of suppliers.

Curtis instuments is a common part supplier to anyone who wishes to buy their stuff. Like pride. They rebrand the curtis stuff and PG stuff as their own...

This is no different. Most chair manufacturers make basically a frame, a few plastic parts and the rest is ordered in. Then they "build" it from all these parts. So can the chinese. They may copy each other roughly, but I dont see any particular resemblense to any other chair.

They have started making crap copies of that crap frying pan chair thought!

Not sure. Never saw one up close. At that price it cant be bad can it! Its 2 pole... All these chinese chairs seem to be. As a backup, maybe OK. Who knows.
Its not a copy of anything I saw. Non of them are. Except that they all copy each other. Or maybe one big factory makes tham, or makes frames, its china. Are expresso freindly rear drive 8mph, grp24, etc. All for 1500 dollars! I mean what could go wrong! Other than we dont know how many Amps, and the motors are 2 pole albeit claimed 450 watts. So cant be that bad?
He is terrified that there wont be a rear drive chair available in the US and stresses out over it. He could order 1 of these for the price of a few new york pizzas.

Was it here I saw the video demos of mounting external magnets on motors?
Seems like that could be done to improve these chairs on the cheap.

2 pole doesent HAVE mean bad. Its just that 2 or 4 pole, is traditionally a cheap way to make a high current low impedance motor (which we want) or a low current and high impedance one (which we dont). But is cheaper to make. From the same basic design. So making things cheap!

2 pole, with half the magnets, half the brushes, half the brush holders. And sadly less efficiancy and less torque while moving. And faster brush wear. Since they each transmit twice the current. Are cheaper. Similar torque while stalled. Less while rolling.

But it isnt nessasarily the case that 2 poles are worse. Its not that 4 poles are intrinsically more powerful. Its just that all else equal they have half the impedance. And so in the powerchair world it tends to be this way. It is possible with 2 poles to make bigger brushes, a lower impedance commutator (heavier wire), and probably a bit bigger physically in armature length to get a similar performance. So since they claim to be 450W they may be OK. Being chinese we cant really know. Normally when you need a lot of torque in a small package 4 poles are used. But really its all about impedance. 4 brushes, doubles the amount of motor windings "live" at any one time and so does this.
