Jazzy 1420 GIVEAWAY

Postby edro » 24 Jun 2022, 13:41

All to give away:

I have a very nice, complete Jazzy 1420 that has the nice manual reclining captains chair. I bricked the controller with a PP1 (not knowing what I was doing) with reset.. (do-oh) Before that there was a code on one of the motors.

I have another Jazzy 1420 base only with good motors. Controller on that one also seems to not work.

I have a Bruno power lift.

(I plan to sell the PP1 programmer.)

The 1420's and Bruno are to give away if they will help someone. I suppose if you

I don't want to deal with shipping anything, so either pickup or if you want to initiate shipping it up to you.

I will provide photos and model / serial numbers later, when I can.

Thank you.

I also have a working* Pride Mobility Go Chair with relatively new batteries (6 months?)

and another Pride Mobility Go Chair for parts... forget what's wrong with that one.

The working* chair, it does work okay, but I've had to rewire the cable that goes from the motor/controller part to the joystick. Sometimes I still gotta wiggle it a little for it to work, but the chair gets me around well in Costco/Sams/hardware stores, etc.

Also the battery case is pretty beat up. I have, I think, 3 battery cases. One is help together with duct tape.

All to give away to someone who can either use it or know someone who can use it..

As promised, pictures!
Of the dozen or so electric wheelchairs that I've owned, and dozens more that I've tried, the Jazzy 1420 was by far the absolute best electric wheelchair! It was my dream to re-build it, but dreams change. So it all has to go. I truly hope that someone else has the joy of restoring this and enjoying it. I actually hiked on trails not meant for wheelchairs. Steep hills, no problem! Anyway, onto the photos!

Ok. Seems that I don't know how to add attachments. This is PHPbb, right? I'll get there... even if I have to host the photos myself...

ah, bummer:
The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 356 KiB.

I'll have to try again later.

Photos:
Reclining Captains Chair - really good condition, 2 very small tears, gotta look for them to see them. Clean. Non smoker. No pets.
Base: One base has the frame for the captains chair, supposed to be universal to something.. (Pride Mobility)
Heavy duty leg lifts
Two joy sticks, one has speed control (very handy!)
Wheels -- pretty sure all wheels are flat-free type -- I'm sure they are on one of the wheelchairs (the one I used for years), the other, not positive, but they look like it (no valve stems)
Batteries will all be removed and recycled.

Please ask any questions. I'll try.

Arrrrggg:
Cannot add another attachment, 3 is the maximum.

Expect more posts from me for other photos.

leglifts
tires
lift points...

I used a Bruno lift (which also has to go) to lift the Jazzy 1420 into my van. The lift points were designed to balance the chair exactly. It was quite easy to get it into the van in spite of my disabilities.'

Please let me know if there are other places that I can post to give away these wheelchairs or what else I can do.

It bothers me that they may end up taken to recycle place or landfill.

I have a week or two before someone is going to take everything to the recycle/landfill. I'm so sorry.

Please let me know if there's anywhere better to give these. I figure someone close to Thurmont Maryland could break them down ans sell the parts.

Let me know before you scrap them. If no one else claims them I will.
I have a step-daughter in New Freedom, PA (about an hour away) that I could send over to get them (with her large son).
She comes to visit a couple times a year and I'll have her bring them down to NC.
I'll put it together into a working chair and donate it to our local hospice.
It will not be sold for profit.

I'm interested in the joysticks. I cover the shipping and whatever you want for them.

Everything is spoken for, except I decided to sell the joysticks on ebay. I can use the cash.

Thanks for letting me post here.
