The software crashes one on 10 times of loading and running compatibility wizard makes no difference to it.
On 64 bit, with ONLY the driver on the disk, it is extremely solid. On my server/workstation and laptop.
In device manager, delete the device, and tick the box where it says "delete driver?" Then click OK.
Then unplug the USB connector, plug back in, and DONT LET IT install from the web. (turn off auto device driver updating, disconnect from the web) If it installs any drivers at all, then delete the device, and driver, again. Rinse and repeat until it cannot find a driver...
Reboot, install the one on the disk only.
CHECK it ONLY has the correct driver installed. Change to a port 1 to 8.
Now try.
