oh ok - i though maybe they had a different number on there overseas site - - what i do if i have to call overseas etc, - i always use a calling card - i get small ones - 2 dollar cards - for those times - but in this case you shouldnt have to do that for one time you may use the card -

You will cause yet more confusion calling them. They wont have a clue what you are talking about.

Let steve post on the forum and they will fix it. In the meantimne, theres no need!

I've had pretty good luck using Skype "call phones" for Europe to/from U.S. calls. Once in a while have a bad connection, but that happened with the phone company too, and it costs next to nothing.

No clue. I strip all that crap out along with all the microsoft "apps" and 100 other things I have no interest in. It still does speech to words or the other way around. But those things are always more trouble than typing. It takes a year for it to train you to get any sense out of it.

I dont have or use anything on this page. Its all gone! Apart from the alarm because that hasnt offended me yet! Scroll down...
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/apps-and-games

The reason they are keen on everyone having 10 free is that all of this garbage is bundled in. And its all about you being pushed towards microsoft services or sales or advertising. I dont do adds...

So its all taken out as part of my installation along with stopping many unneeded services, getting rid of all the reporting usage etc to microsoft and anything else that doesent just behave as a simple operating system. Takes about 10 hours to do a proper install and configure everything so that I am in charge rather than microsoft. They make it difficult because thats their moneymaker. Lean, simple, only does as I tell it.

And then after installing essentiaI tools etc I do a disk image. And use THIS image for all future clean installs like on my laptop for eg. Because the software I use for backups can restore this super clean configured image to different hardware/other machines.

Same here BM, I strip out all the useless Metro/Modern Apps out of Windows 8.1/10. I even had 8.1 boot straight to the desktop, non of that stupid Start Screen crap! I also use Classic Shell as I prefer it over the new Start Menu. Just want a Desktop OS without the mobile app crap :)

Getting rid of the bundled ""apps" and other money makers isnt simple at least 6 cannot be uninstalled. Officially. Like that edge browser. But just like cortana that junk can be removed too if you know how...

My operating system has all that crap removed. It allows me to run MY choice of software ONLY. And nothing else. It also boots faster (ALMOST INSTANT) and has way less stuff running in the background. So cpu doesent waste power, heat, memory etc is all but empty. Boot and stable desktop is almost instant.

You also need to go through the scheduler with a fine tooth comb, and also stop the auto updating garbage - thats for dummies... Not just for drivers. Theres several ways to do that. My PC ONLY does as I tell it. When I tell it. Nothing pops up, interferes, or does anything in the background I dont tell it.

Likewise the web. Ads... And things that try to take over. Bad sites, etc. Not happening!

My hosts file is a mile long! Here for your own: http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/
You will find a few addresses in there that you DO need so it may need editing now and again in time as you find them.

And https://adblockplus.org/ is ESSENTIAL - visit with every browser and install and configure it. And turn off "allow some unobtrusive ads" and you will never see another ad... Claim back the web, see it how it used to be.

I use uBlock Origin add-on in Firefox as this can block many malware sites, ads and other dodgy stuff. One add-on everybody should have if using Chrome or Firefox :geek:

Expresso. Theres an easy way to uninstall most of the garbage ware here.

But it wont do cortana or edge, you need to do that manually and its not easy...

Here's a simple powershell script that will remove all bundled apps in Win 10...

Code: Select all
Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | where-object {$_.name –notlike "*store*"} | Remove-AppxPackage

Save this in a notepad text file, then rename the extension from txt to ps1. Then just right click the file and run as admin.

It just removes all the bundled Modern apps that comes with Windows 10. Alternatively you can use the Toggle Tweaker which I've used, as this can strip out Cortana and Edge as well. The batch script was made by a Mydigitallife forum member. Use at your own risk though!

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/201 ... ive-review

This thing is supercar fast, has a 0 to 60 just over 3 secs! 250 miles plus range, and 11 sec standing quarter mile, 155mph limited.

It uses a 85kWh battery. 6831 of NCR18650 Panasonic batteries in the "Battery pack"...

I just worked out how long it would take my PL8 charger to charge it with its 1344kw output... 63 hours!
But I have 2... So 31.5 hours if it was dead flat. :o
And I now have a third too. So could do it in 21 Hours. But cant afford a 75k Tesla!
(Thats also FASTER than a tesla wall charger.) But they have special super power chargers in most cities.

So a Chevy Volt. That has a 10kWh battery pack. Thats just 3x my BM3/BM2L chairs.
I could charge that with one charger in 7.4 hours. Easily overnight. Or with two chargers in under 4 hours. So much for "hobby" chargers! 40amps each. Thats lots faster than its own charger!

Its own charger is about 1000 output watts for the US. And charges at just 8 or 12 Amps depending on 110 or 230 volt AC system.

If on 230VAC system you can:
VOLT FORUM: However four issues beg to be addressed. First one is there are 2 modes to level 1 charging in a Volt, 8 or 12 amp- this takes the charge time down to 8 hours for full recharge.

Fire anyone?
This is why you do not want a generic pack with a BMS on it...

This is not something we need to worry about if using the Headway cells like we do ? should i be worried at all with the full chair pack and or even the ADD ON ? i am comfortable so far with the ADD ON - used it enough times

the full chair - only 3 times -

Nope because LiFe cells cannot catch fire unless you really abuse them. Think BM overcharged one as a test to see what would happen, and it started to leak some oily stuff.

Its not the cells that catch fire but the BMS itself when its mosfets fail and its nest of wiring.

Cells themselves are almost impossible to get to burn. I tried very hard to do that. Charged one cell to 30 volts for about 45 mins! It did get hot but thats about all it did. Banged a screwdriver into another. One leaked "oil"... The other made a load of white smoke. Neither would ignite when I tried to make them with a flame. One guy online got the "oil" to ignite after he heated it with a gas powered blow torch. But any oil will do that.

This is why we should not use BMS! At least not generic plug and play replacement system ones as most people want to do. Its also why the manufacturers say lithium is dangerous. And why boeing tried to burn several jets...

All because everyone KNOWS you have to have one!
