You can buy grey 3.00 x 8. You may get 3.50 x 8 in grey, I remember seeing some years ago. But REALLY uncommon. And only a tiny bit bigger. Whats more they really need a rim that is slightly wider.

And again, that's the DEALER version, you really need the OEM version to remove any walls that may have been set.

Well in that case you'd need items 2 and 3 from the list. If changing speed profiles is all your wanting to do, then the dealer version will do what you need.

I don't know if it has any impact on older chairs but I was told recently by a local vender that the Q6 and Q7 had recently had some sort of recall. I was not able to get specifics and I don't know how sweeping the issue is. It might be worth asking about.

Programming is such a big deal and can be very costly. I am quite lucky, in that I learned this way to late, that the chairs I own are all Invacare and I met someone with multiple programmers than work with my chairs. They are awesome and have helped me make changes I didn't know how to make, and did not have the equipment to do it.

You might think about your extended support options when making your decision. So far I've found it very difficult to get my Insurance to help me with my mobility issues so every place I can cut costs have been very valuable. This may not apply to you. For me, my small group of friends and this forum have been invaluable. I didn't know a single person involved with Powerchairs a couple of months ago. I was amazed at the community when I started looking.

Oh yeh, the advice about trying to stick with propulsion types is a great bit of wisdom. I have 2 mid wheel and a rear wheel drive chairs. I typically use my mid wheel Arrow chair and I have a hell of a time navigating when I use the rear wheel drive chair. I am of course, very new to driving any kind of chair but they really do feel pretty different.

That cable is only for the handheld programmer I think? You need to buy item 2 and an USB type A plug to USB type B plug... like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5m-USB-2-0-Hi ... Sw6btXTD6O It should be included with the dongle.

carlo67 Your chair may move better with different programming but you should check to see what speed the motors are. If they are 4MPH motors or ones whos top speed has not been restricted by the software then no amount of programing will increase your top speed.

But I guess you know that already but it seems your are going through a lot of hassle to make your chair handle better. Then again my chair for all its faults is still pretty responsive.

Thank you for your interest in 1800wheelchair.com and our product offering.

Unfortunately, we do not ship internationally, you will have to arrange final delivery to your country.

Shipping is *free* in the lower 48 states for anything over $59.00. We also offer free shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico on a more limited number of products - please call us to follow up about that.

When shipping internationally (outside the USA) here is what you need to do:

(1) Ship your items to a friend in USA (for free) and have them ship or transport it to you.

(2) Engage an international shipper (also known as a freight forwarder) in the USA. They can arrange final delivery to you.

Best Regards,
Aileen

Complying with export controls (to avoid sending "sensitive" technology to unfriendly countries) can be a paperwork PITA. Even McMaster-Carr, which is not a small outfit, stopped sending overseas some years ago. Freight-forwarding companies do it everyday, so for them it becomes just another bit of routine.

But the only difference is writing a different address. And charging more for shipping. And they are losing sales (profit).

Because here in the 'land of the f(r)ee' the government imposes all sorts of extra BS reporting requirements on companies - Look up "ITAR" - especially anything to do with high tech, it becomes a major hassle to ship internationally because of the extra paperwork involved if you are a business that doesn't do it routinely....

Totally stupid because it only causes trouble for those that WANT to do the 'right thing' - those with evil intent have umpteen ways to avoid having to obey the rules that apply to the law abiding....

However the end result is that the extra hassles involved make if not worth the effort to ship internationally from the US at ANY price - let alone one that people would be willing to pay, unless you are a major corporation that does a LOT of volume...

6 inch ones too big for casters, too small for drive wheels. 8 inch ones will fit the thin drive wheels.

X5/V6 AT wheels will fit anything sized 145/70-6. I've seen different color tires in that size, but never gray. That tread pattern of those camo tires in BM's post are GREAT offroad. However, on pavement, that tread gets chewed up very in a hurry, faster than the stock knobbies. Plus there's a bit of 'glug glug g;ug' vibration on hard surfaces with that tractor-like tread. I've personally never mounted turf tires on my rims but I'm sure they'd wear much better.

By far the best tires I've used on a Frontier were AMS Fox A/T 145/70-6. Better traction than the stock knobbies, but just as smooth ride and they'd wear no worse than stock. Unfortunately, AMS stopped making them in that size.

If I may ask, why are preferring gray tires. I think black looks much better myself but to each his own.
