Thanks both. That means I can get some 200mm OD, 155mm ID diameter spacers cut, say 40 to 60mm thick from black or blue HMDP and a rubber sealing ring groove added each side. And then add longer M8 low profile bolts. Allowing 90/90 or 110/80 or 120/70 x8 tyres o be used.

Or a set of 10 inch rims...

One of the reasons I ordered the Storm X-plore chair other than the new brushless motors (38 miles on lead!) is that I no longer have a chair with a seat riser. And cant reach the top of my van to wash, or shelves to clean.

I never drive about or even use that when out and about. I have no feeling of being 'left out' or hard to communicate etc. So no real need. Usually prefer compact lighter smaller chairs for easy access and use. But tilt as on a couple of my existing chairs is nice. This new one has leccy everything. Power (Center) footplate, recline, tilt, riser, etc. Probably overkill and heavy as hell...

I just wish the arms were more substantial as if they are like most invacare chairs they will be wobbly and weak. So much so that once reprogrammed so it goes/stops/steers properly you just *can't* do exactly that! But I can weld! And its way too nose heavy with overloaded casters. We will know in about 6 weeks when its built/delivered. Apparently REM550 and center footplate etc is a special build! You would think it would be the stock setup. But its an old design so maybe they lost interest.

Pity Curtiss-Wright don't make a Brushless plug-in module for the R-Net as I would've been tempted to buy these.

There are brushless modules on eBay... And many rem joystick modules too. Cheap. And the programmer is ahem, dongle free...

Well sell it, to pay for your new controller, as you no longer require it...

We have a way!
And whats more it is a level higher than OEM... So lets you mess about with battery meter voltages and stop voltages etc. Meaning you can use lithium with a battery gauge... Or a volt meter. And a cut off at a safe level. And some other things.

Dynamic v PG drives v Curtis stuff?

PG is more widely used here. All equally good. But PG no does brushless... And I cannot stomach another decade of stone age brushed motors. Meaning invacare/dynamic is the only option. I always say get whatever one you can get a oem programmer for.

What about going into the wayback pile and messing with Invacare MKIV stuff? I have the hand-held programmer for MKIV, but it's pretty limited.... Not sure if that is because of what it lets you get at for options, or because the controller itself is that limited....

I think max RPM is fixed to 220 or less. But there's a lot of settings that change torque or brake settings so they don't bug you like a 5 sec delay. Or steering and turn accelerations/deceleration or speed of response etc. Max amps, boost level and duration etc. Take a look. Choose service.

Are they all usable with the Wizard programmer and all motors?

(The 3rd version motors are actually called 2 plus or TT Plus, but look the same externally I think)

More info, the motor cables are longer on rear drive ones. So buying a mid drive will not fit a rear drive...

I don 't have the dongle , so never tried the Wizard .

However , I do use my old programmer on all controllers , MK 4 _ _ _ MK 6i .

Then the UNLOCKED wizard will work. It allows 4 access levels. And can fix your battery meter!
