For a true indoor outdoor power wheelchair
here are some very basic questions. No really technical stuff just the simple
obvious IMPORTANT basics. 1.
How WIDE should the maximum width of any powerchair actually be - (There
is only one single answer here that is correct) and why?
2, How LONG should a
powerchair actually be - (again there is only one correct answer) and again why?
3. What speed should the
powerchair be capable of? (There is flexibility here as long as you know
WHY!)
4. How many Amps does the
control system need to be capable of?
5. Do you think that a
powerchair needs reprogramming properly to suit each individual? And why?
6. Seat height. What
effect does seat height have. Apart from the obvious "cant get legs under a
table". Why is it important to keep it low. There are lots of important effects!
How many of the simple obvious ones do you know?
7. Puncture free, foam,
etc tyres. Disadvantages please? There are a few important ones here.
8, Wheel and tyre SIZES.
Two parts. a) Caster sizes. b) drive wheel sizes. What affect does different
tyre / wheel sizes have? And why. Which is best for an indoor /outdoor
powerchair?
9. What is the single
biggest problem for all active powerchair users?
10. Name a suitable indoor
outdoor powerchair that is great indoors, small low, compact etc, that can also
go all day, fast charge in an hour, and is at home on a beach or in the
snow/woods walking the dog? Think hard.
