Jump Leads

After my belt on my alternator snapping and having to drive, stop and charge my battery with a shite jump lead i thought i better get a decent jump lead, anyone recommend anything found this on amazon............

If you fit the 12v parallel charge setup to your chair, and matching Anderson to your cars dashboard then you dont need jump leads.

The chairs 12v anderson system can start the van while you sit in the drivers position.
The van can charge the chair once running. (Unless belt snapped!)
The alternator belt snapping will mean you dont get to drive far before the ignition system and anything else turned on soon wipe out your vans 1 battery. But again theres another two that can be connected via your chairs parallel charge connection to get you home with 3x the capacity to go at :)

Just an idea. I love flexibility and contingency plans! Mine already rescued me when I left some stuff on and came out of the cinema with no van battery left. I connected to the OUTSIDE anderson to power the door/ramp down. Then connected to the INSIDE Anderson to start the van. Then let the vans alternator charge all three as I drove home problem free.

Well IMHO the big thing to look at on a set of Jumper cables is the wire gage - the bigger the wire the better, and as far as I'm concerned, anything smaller than AWG 6, or 10mm^2 wire is GARBAGE - it might get you started if the battery is just barely dead, but don't count on it...

What I did in addition to BM's wiring suggestions for both my chair and van, is to make a set of custom jumper cables, about 6' long IIRC, using AWG 6 wire, and a set of jumper clamps that can fit both top and side-post batteries on one end, and an Anderson SB-50 on the other... These live in the back of my van, and can serve both as a 3rd option for getting started if I'm dead, or let me play "good samaritan" and jump someone else off if need be...
