Or simply leave it alone .

Hi, I must admit I get a bit confused regarding wheel rims. Personally I'm not overly fussed about about a centre disc, afterall it's only for aesthetics? The main thing is the wheel fits, and the tyre doesn't is close to but doesn't foul the motor.

Well if you dont care about ugly, fit 2 valves, fit the wheel on backwards, and make a spacer for that! Valves https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-90-Degre ... SwY99ZiwR8 REAR wheel only.

I agree I think that would alright with a shiny 1.5mm centre cover.

So is this a 2.75 rim with a 3.50 tyre. With the rim put on backwards?

I'm beginning to understand, things take a while to sink in. I think I'm getting old.

The Cheng Shin/Primo Ribs are going back. But what about the two tubes? Are they any good for the 3.00 x 4 Hendau's

You cant fit one, because the wheel is closer to the chair, the nut sticks out proud of the rim...

Hmm, I see what you mean... I think the one in the photo looks worse because of the tarnished wheel hub, rusty shaft, and rusty nut. But maybe if the hub, nut, and shaft were painted black that might not look too bad? It might sort of look like a black hub cap? Sometimes a black and silver work quite well together?

Looking at sinopoly 100Ah lithium. And stuck on bed today. Does anyone know what the max battery height that will fit a salsa/jive battery compartment?

Looking at 220mm tall. Is that possible?

I don't but later on I can take some photos with a ruler in the shot if that would help? Are the battery box/chassis drawings in the e-parts catalogue to scale? If so you might be able to get dimension from there?

No...

The cells are 221 tall. But need room for connectors and bus bars. And you need to know too. So we can decide if the cells will fit. Replacing 73Ah or 80Ah lead or 60ah in your case? With 100Ah lithium will increase speed a little once programmed, and also range.

From the 70/80 Ah battery we actually get around 40 to 50Ah (about 45Ah max usable) before we grind to a halt.
So it will potentially double the range as lithium gives the same Ah regardless of discharge rate.
So we can safely use 90, leaving 10Ah in reserve and thats double the 45 we get from lead.

IF they will fit. https://www.ev-power.eu/Sinopoly-40Ah-3 ... 100Ah.html

We have a 340W x 260L x ? tall space.

Understood will do. I’m lying on the bed injured the moment but I plan to get down on floor later on this morning to have another look at introducing BUCKET! into the tilt/elevate unit. I will take some photos and measurements then. I did espy the other day my batteries are sonnenshein, but I couldn’t see the Ah rating and want to check out of curiosity anyway

EDIT! I meant DUMP, I did it again! hanged

This shape of cell has been interesting me more than the cylinders as I think I will be able to get more Ah in the space. I have seen quite a few 125Ah cells that would just about fit, but they have a less durable looking casing than these and with the battering everything gets from the state of the pavements that worries me.
Burgerman wrote:But need room for connectors and bus bars.
With the change in weight I think I will need to allow for a sheet of something heavy in the bottom of my battery space too so the centre of gravity isn't raised up. Can't risk toppling over sideways.

Battery compartment is 14.5" long by about 9" high. I forgot to measure width but I can do that tomorrow if need be. But it looks to be about 1" wider than the sonnensheins.

There is however A LOT of room above the batteries. There are two chassis tubes that run crossways over the batteries. Tubes must be >3" above batteries. I can measure more accurately when T/E unit is removed for dump modification

Re T/E unit dump.

Job lot of photos here: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmgH55ZE

I worked out that if I remove this flange here:
IMG_0461.jpg

Bolt T/E unit in this position:
IMG_0459.jpg

Then maximum dump can be achieved on front lugs here:
IMG_0465.jpg

The decision now is whether to dill ONE hole, or TWO, equal distance between existing lug holes. Two looks to be quite tight but would give four dump positions. As I'll be hand drilling with small rechargeable it might be best to play safe and just drill one?

Opinions sought?

PS: Scratchy head re purpose of flange which doesn't seem to do anything apart from get in the way. Then lightbulb moment! The whole point of it is TO GET IN THE WAY. It's there to stop the T/E unit being bolted into rearmost position with maximum dump. It's obviously a safety feature so rider doesn't go A over T with seat at max T/E.

Looks like I need a set of 100Ah sinopoly then... http://files.ev-power.eu/inc/_doc/attac ... ion_v2.pdf

If you drill a hole in between the two existing ones, as I did, and make the rearmost lift to rail mounting bolt hole oval with a rat tail file, you can have more dump, and the lip rides over the rear frame rail. So best of both.

this is great - it fits - and only 8 Cells gives you 100ah - i wonder if they have the 120ah model that fit also - and cheaper in cost - depending on shipping i guess

Nope... But an easy 8 cell 100Ah conversion makes things simpler. Although they will likely not stay in balance as well as a selected discharge headway pack. And instead of 2v minimum on the headways, its 2.65V... So less good as a add on, more easily damaged by over discharge. But no problem if you take care.

Ah yes i see - i guess as long as the user knows the limits - with my ADD ON - i havnt gone below 3v so it can be Ok if monitored - i good once a month charge if kept during the winter with no use -

you would be able to make a good preset for these ? not use the same presets as the headways ?
