I believe that may sometimes be a case of miss-identification of the control system.

Identifying the NE or Enable40 as the later Qlogic / Enable50 .... the NE programs via Curtis's standard inverted TTL protocol rather than the later CAN and uses the same type of programming socket.

The user gcebiker recently referenced on this topic is I. Thanks gcebiker for the pm responses.

Two years ago I followed gologen's method to get full programming control of a Q-Logic controller. I used the same QM USB-CAN A1+ adapter that gologen did and it worked great.

Unfortunately, that adapter died this summer. So I purchased the following unit http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-CAN-USB-to- ... 0899053368

Using the same setup that worked previously I tried to use the new adapter with no success. I don't know if this particular unit is just defective or that this manufacturer's model doesn't work with gologen's dll. But I do know it doesn't work.

If anyone knows of a currently available adapter that works, that information would be greatly appreciated so I can get a new one. I found the original QM specific model in quantities of 10 on ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/10Pcs-lot-High- ... 0876045060) but that's about 9 more than I need :)

Thanks!

Try writing to the vendor with the 'ask a question' feature - many will make a different size lot on request... Might cost more per part and / or have higher shipping, but still probably less than getting 10....

KVN reports that as per the image ive attached to this post , the one he had and the one Gologen had success with vary slightly.
Enough for KVN to not have luck getting it to work second time round.

Of course yours may work and it might be a batch issue or something else entirely.

This appears to be the type that doesn't work.

Maybe KVN , could you try the DLL library from their site ?

Perhaps that would get your new one working ?
Direct link to their DLL file is http://www.qm999.cn/res/rj/can/A1-A2-dll.rar

Web page link is http://www.qm999.cn/rj.html

silly me, they are for the QM model... /sigh

Well if mine ever does come in, its been 4 hours away for 2 days and tomorrow will make 3, I intend to at least give it a try. Others have already failed on this same version as pointed out, so I don't hold much hope. But what knowledge I don't yet have I make up for with persistence. Besides, I don't have anything else to do and may as well just give it a try. Likely it'll just be a $22 hunk of uselessness. :( :geek:

When yours come in from the far east I would thankfully wish to buy one of yours once you can verify that they do work.

Ebay seller did not have stock (despite listing being active), order has been canceled and refunded.
Its probally just the .dll file that's messing things up.

As Goloens dll was for the QM.

If you got a disk with the USB-CAN adapter it may have the required software on it.

I also saw the instructions on how to build the programming interface, buy that usb and build a cable, but it's a little above my current capabilities. I called Quantumrehab, but as folks have said, they're about as useful and forthcoming with any help as an worn-out wheelchair tire.

Am I just screwed in my hopes of speeding this thing up for use in power soccer? I know it's not an optimum chair to use, but it is twice the size of an average StrikeForce chair. lol

I found the bit in the manual that outlines why a setting cant be changed twice.

Easy fix as it turns out.

The $65.98 unit sold by hotsale-eshop is a USB-CAN B1 versus the A1+ model that is sought after. Not sure if it will work as I don't know the difference.

A few posts back gcebiker asked about the qhdlm.cn drivers. Link is http://115.28.16.44:81/file/CAN4421.rar

I tried the drivers from this rar but didn't have any luck. I might just be unlucky and am very interesting in seeing if gwnys has any success. Good luck!

spent hours with the one I bought, no luck.

Tried two computers, different drivers, different OS's. nothing. Many different errors or just hung during startup, slave, mater, auto detect. Tried different ports. Tried everything I could think of. Then tried again. Did this with a laptop and one of the main Pc's.

No luck. Oh well.

Had service call yesterday, and some expert skills from them worked out my programming problems. They were bad, the way they had set them at the issuing org were all messed up. Still, I'd like to be able to tweak it myself now that it works like it should. But I am much happier.

Got the qhdlm model to work. The dll for this unit is called LM_USB.dll . Change this name to QM_USB.dll and follow original instructions. Mine then finally connected to Q6 Edge wheelchair control and read all the paremeters ok.

The link I used for the qhdlm software package is http://115.28.16.44:81/file/CAN4421.rar

This package is about 17meg. However, only one dll is needed for things to work, LM_USB.dll. It is about 600KB. I have uploaded this file.

What you need to do is change the name of this file to QM_USB.dll, and use this one as in the original instructions.

Thankyou to you guys for having this thread. Hopefully we will end up with a usable and responsive wheelchair. Next week I will make up some reliable cables and connections thanks to suggestions from this thread. What I am using now was just to test things and had to be held in place by hand.

WHOOPEEE!

I Just got mine to work! Thanks for that last driver, that's what did it for me. Now my Rival is tweaked even better. And If I find something needs a bit more adjustment I can do it myself and at my own convenience.

Thanks to everyone who had a hand in working this out.

By the way, I did this on a Windows 10 64 bit computer. The desktop kept resetting and restarting the "finding new devices" part of load-up. I didn't get to far Into thinking that over and first tried the laptop and it worked beautifully. Laptop is my preferred computer anyways since its portable and can be wherever the wheelchair is.

Whoopee! Oh I said that already, oh well it was worth saying twice! :D

Quantum Rival, Q-Logic 2, OEM Curtis software, and the usb-can device I posted about on an earlier post in this topic.

Link to the one I bought:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/281575028208?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

Had the Curtis software set for OEM, Slave Mode to the verified port for the usb can adapter. Windows 10 64 bit. Set it all up as per this topic, including the folder update into the "global" folder to fix all the question marks on the topics/folders that appeared first time around.
