Yes they are hard to get hold of, unless you're good at convincing them Here's a few tips:-

1. Say the chair drives poorly like dodgems (bumper cars)
2. Say its for sport use and you need a responsive chair without any programmed delays
3. Say you rebuild your chair(s) and need access to set the motor compensation correctly to match the new motors you're fitting (eg. going from 2-pole to 4-pole)

These are the top 3 I would use. Others may have different suggestions.

carl, you gotta fight for it yourself. it's no good keep asking where to get an OEM programmer from, you gotta work that out on your own like many of us had to.

If all else fails, get them to enable On Board Programming. It does quite a bit, and no programmer needed. It may be enough for you.

yes i believe so - those or basic settings and i am almost 99% sure they can be adjusted if at least onboard programming is enabled from the joystick

and it actually can be already - you need to try to do it on your joystick - i dont remember the correct procedure to do that - i know its in the manual somewhere

and if you happen to find an Rnet dongle - it dosnt have to be the OEM version to make those changes - if you can get the Dealer version - you should be fine -

search on Ebay - they show up every so often -

believe or not for that price - just 30 dollars more - you can buy the dongle brand new - dealer version -

i rather do that - if this is the correct item you need for your chair - i dont know what you have etc, - BM knows best -


unless thats a OEM version - but what you want to do - just those basic items to change - dealer is fine

Can you get the dealer or vendor to unlock the joystick for OBP ? if you can get that done - for free it should be - you wont need anything else - you can use your joystick to change those settings -

@carlo67: A dongle is about access (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_ ... ion_dongle).

To change or make changes in the wheelchair software you need:

1.) A wheelchair + a dongle (access can vary hence dealer or OEM Level) + the programmimg software itsself.
2.) A wheelchair + a programming tool (i.e. a "handheld programmer")
3.) A wheelchair + a contoller that allows changes directly (i.e. "on board programmging"). This is normally a check box which can be activated by using 2.) or.3.) depending on manufacturer and / or access Level granted by the dongle.

On board programming normally allows access to the same features as a dealer level dongle.

Simple.

One word of warning, my friend Dave (dgt) accidently locked himself out of OBP which he had to come and visit me again so I could re-enable it again with my OEM dongle.

So be careful which settings you change!

Also when you enable it, check to see any walls are also removed. Or they mal limit your choices.

We are talking about Rnet right?
It can be ORDERED with this enabled.
It can be enabled subsequently by anyone with OEM level access. Both with or without a password.

The mistake you are making is that you are talking to an idiot.

Tell "phil" you will get the chair from somewhere else that has a clue.

As Steve said; I managed to shut down the OBP on my Alex by mistake. IT IS VERY EASY TO DO! BE WARNED.

I did it by trying to 'back out' of OBP with an incorrect value entered by myself. As soon as I closed down OBP it flashed up a message on the screen that incorrect data had been entered. With that cleared, I could no longer access OBP and as Steve said it meant another trip to see him (which I didn't mind because he is a true gent!).
