I'd consider a notch on the front , to route the cable out.
Here seems appropriate , as no moving parts around.

And a screw through the case (open it be sure gap so wires dont ollide!) to hold the connector flat on he surface to make it stable and easy to connect.

In the same way I did with the dual anderson connectors on he invacare storm xplore.

I just had to put the MK Gels back in. When I would tilt back all the way, then come back to upright, the chair went into turtle mode. The wood on the sides might have been just slightly higher than the MK Gel batteries, so it might have been somehow interfering with the tilt. Or maybe some cable wasn't fully plugged in. I don't think anything about the pack could have confused the tilt actuators so it must be something else. I just won't be able to diagnose it until later next week unfortunately. I'll cut the boards to be shorter and see if everything goes back to normal once I can get the pack back in.

Ah, nicely mounted. Sounds like a good idea. Maybe I'll have to get a bracket to mount the plug. And something to cover it to keep water out. Shouldn't be much direct water there under the seat where it should be protected from the rain, but could get splashed by a bus or something.

You might be able to use velcro. Cut to same shape.

And a black alloy metal backshell, and if you connect a balance lead and another plug to it to feed a

I injected hot glue into the connectors fully.

Can't be open.

Use the 2 stock holes .

Even though when tested the cell log is pretty accurate, it can be USER CALIBRATED so that it reads exactly the same mV as your mutimeter. How to do that is documented on youtube. And its very easy.

The thing is a litle cheap lookng and plasticy But its bright, coloured, has a graphical cell level view, can be calibrated in needs be, and you can set an alarm at any cell voltage if you want. You cant see it in sunshine though.

Yes.
You are no wrong.

Why not a BMS inside , so you can see on your phone. Half the price.

So I can unscrew the screws in the two holes and don't have to worry about it coming apart since it's glued. Then get longer screws to go through some holes in the shroud to secure it.

Yes! Without which I would not have been able to attempt this project.

Easy.
I have no smart phone owned by a marketing and data mining company.
and
They take up space on the chair that is better used by ading more capacity.
And they draw small current all the time from the pack.

Mainly because fire risk caused by failed BMS.
And because after you used the cell log in week one you realise its not needed anyway. All I do now is guess. Or look at the joystick for a light out or at the mles. No danger of over discharging. So the cell log is just for initial setup and getting used to how far you can actually go.

But those are MY choices!
Those are why I dont.

Likely m2.5 or m3. On some plastic shells they are self tappers. Take out a screw and look carefully. You may need to drill it slightly bigger for say a couple of longer M3 screws or similar.

Wait, what was the problem of just passing the d-sub cable from the side where there is no chassis cover? That's what I'm planning to do with my m5

The bolt looks like M3.

The Anderson SB50 on my C500 is mounted with a little spacer made from a piece of plastic cutting board.
Maybe I'll try to do something like that. It might be nice to mount the spacer on the shroud, then have holes for the bolt so it wouldn't be necessary to have to hold the nuts from behind the shroud each time it has to be removed.

I'm leaning towards trying to mount it on the back more vs. the front because the front is hard to reach through the leg rests when the chair isn't elevated. It might be difficult to plug it in blind when reaching through the leg rest. Or an extra step to have to raise and lower to charge.

I might be able to get it to come out the side without cutting the shroud, but I'm worried it might be close to one of the springs. I wouldn't want the cable to sag onto the spring and start to wear.

Thanks. Is there a plastic cover for that king of plug? Or is it a custom one that won't have something like that available?

I got a rubber one for SB50 a while ago and thought it might be nice to cover this one in case of a rainy windy day.

It is already a plastic cover. What are you hoping for this to achieve?

I use metal shell on mine but both are OK.

If the plug is mounted on the shroud, I'm worried about water getting in the plug holes in the end when I'm outside and it's raining, or dust etc.

That seems to fit, thanks. It kept popping off though, looks like the end was damaged a little in the shipping.

I wouldn't worry about rain /damp at all. It's glued inside, so nothing can move or get into it.

It's called 21W4 here.

The wood I used previously was half inch (1.3cm ?) plywood. It seemed to interfere with something. Even after cutting it lower and filing the edge a bit so it fit in better it still caused the chair to go into turtle mode after returning from a full backward tilt for some reason.

I got some chopping boards at the local market for £3 each and they were just the right size to nearly match 2 group 24 batteries side by side and about 0.8cm thick (5/16 inch?). An extra piece of cardboard wedged in next to it makes it snug. Two strips of acetate screwed in at the stop keeps them upright.

The cable could go out the side, around and then up to the middle in the back, but it seemed neater to cut a notch in the shroud so it could come right up in the back in the middle. A piece of chopping board is mounted to the top of the back shroud in the middle. I had another piece under the shroud to make it extra secure but I had to remove that and even file the nuts down a bit because there wasn't enough clearance under the shroud for the circuit breaker. The M3 bolts are just threaded into the plastic of the chopping board, so I hope that holds it in place well enough.

The chair doesn't seem to go into turtle mode any more after tilting back and then forward all the way.

It's currently getting a full charge.

Just finishing a full charge now. Will maybe take it out for a spin tomorrow, though it looks like rain tomorrow…

Here's how it looked with the charging cable coming out the side. Not terrible but this definitely looks neater.
