yes the v6 HYBRID http://www.magicmobility.com.au/wheelch ... v6-hybrid/

But the fat low pressure tyres are greatest advantage on the V6. That is its strongest advantage over the other chairs. MUCH better ride, better on sand/grass/snow/mud etc at the same time. Definitely get a set of 145/70 - 6 wheels and tyres with it as well.

That appears much better as it at least lists the correct dongle. ..the prices I'm not so keen on ... but it's not me that's buying them. :)

Your dealer should be able to set you up with whatever you need in the way of control configurations, hardware, and so on. Any of the major controller hardware series have interface hookups for non-standard input devices and after that it's just a matter of wiring and programming appropriately...

Hopefully they could come up with something a bit less crude looking than what you have in the photo...

Didn't mean to be insulting about it - that it works for you is what is most important, and I'm very aware that the options for fancy enclosures are limited when doing Qty=1 type things...

That said, I would start by making sure your DME has a good chance to look over your setup, and get any schematics or other documentation on what it does, how it's wired, and so on... If you have a source on the joystick, that will also be possibly helpful...

Looking at the picture, I'm guessing that you have a custom joystick wired into some kind of auxilary input module - all the controller makers have some sort of auxilary input module designed specifically to interface with custom control hardware of different sorts - the exact details will differ in terms of connector styles and pinouts, etc. but the capabilities will be the same...

So the DME will have to figure out how to replicate the stick and other mechanical bits so that it feels as close to what you have on your end, but that will mostly be brackets once he gets the stick down. Then he will need to make any wiring changes and fix the programming, but it shouldn't be all that difficult if he knows his job.

What happens to your existing chair? While there is much to be said for you keeping it as a spare / backup, if you aren't keeping it, the simplest thing might be to just have the DME take your existing setup and transplant it to the new chair...

hi

it is cool [insulting ] I know that it is look very awful and little bit rude lol it worked perfectly for me lol
the auxilary input module - omni+ and normal stick. the display is omni+

yes. The DME will take my chair to melbourne for few days, they will try replicate it. but I won't be there unfortunately.I don't know what display they will put on.

I will keep my old chair. [as backup] only seat will move to new chair

That kit is what's needed for Dynamic OEM-level programming. It will not work at all for any P&G products.

They are competitors. Both have similar performance, both do 120A for a few seconds, and 90 to 100A normally subject to heat and thermal rollback. Bugs? Not that I know of.

Its whichever one you like the look of, or can access an OEM level programmer for. Or buy at the best price. Some prefer the smaller joystick of the PG Drives one.

JoeC, are you still reading along? If so, can you comment on this tech's bad mouthing the DX2? My experience is all with DX, not DX2, but I have a suspicion that this is another case of a tech blathering about things he knows nothing about.

Hi Carlo,
We were using the Dynamic system up until the start of last year.
We have switched over to the R-Net system as it is much more versatile.
If you really want the Dynamic system, we can still do this, however it would add a couple of thousand dollars to the cost.

What can the PG do that the Dynamic DX2 cant?
And what bugs?

They are pretty much direct competition and equally good as far as I can tell.

If you like Rear wheel drive - i think Quickie is a great chair - S646 se - or P222se - both are fast - and can get you out of anything - off road - curbs etc, - programming can be done - R net - the 646 is a great ride compared to 222 - much stiffer

both fast - but one thing - batteries - make sure you get 24s and even then - they use batteries alot - - depends how far your trips are - worth a look if you like simple - fast and easy to program

My vague recollection is that JoeC used mostly Dynamic controllers on the soccer chairs he was building for the TeamUSA soccer team, as they didn't have as high a peak power as the R-net, but had a higher power remaining after the initial couple of second pulse...

The only 'bug' I recall him mentioning was an instance of having a chair that was already tuned to the 'max' and way outside the usual specs going into a 'run-away' after a hard hit during a game. My recollection was that Dynamic essentially said that they wouldn't investigate / fix because the programmer was set up and being used for applications outside their design specification envelope...

I don't know just how they compare on versatility, but I know that I see a lot of things posted about the different options for setting up R-net for use with those having unusual / difficult control needs, and not as much about Dynamic - however I don't know how much that means in actual practice.

P&G seems to have a wider market at the moment, but that was not always the case. The R-net and DX2 have similar, obviously not identical, capabilities. If you search in "anything disability" you can find some photos that John posted of a P&G (not R-net, however) power module and my comments about the engineering differences between that and a DX (not DX2) power module - I don't remember whether I posted any pictures. The P&G has half as many MOSFETS, the output connections consist of metal strips pressed into contact by a bit of plastic, and there's no heat sinking. The DX, on top of twice the number of MOSFETS, has output connectors solidly soldered to the circuit board, and a finned, die-cast aluminum case with spring fingers and heat conductive grease between the MOSFETs and the case. Which one do you think will hold up better in heavy use such as power chair hockey? The weakest link in the DX-PM in my experience has been the ISO contactor relay which will probably last many many years in typical use, but may be overtaxed in heavy use especially if power gets turned off while the chair is moving; it's just plain undersized for making or breaking 100 Amps, but in normal use actually switches only with near 0 load across the contacts.

That's the dealer version which is near useless. You need the OEM version, which you can get but it's not easy!
