Start from the beginning.

1. What is connected. Lithium, or Lead? Or Both?
2. Is balance wire connected?
3. What preset? Rename it .zip and post it here!

OK If charging lead only Either wiring mode OK. NO balance lead connected...

If charging Lithium only, You can charge FMA with main wires or without.
If charging both, together you MUST charge only the lithium, and connect balance wires AND and then have the lead connected to it as well. As if you are driving it, In other words you cant charge the lithium via the balance wires and the lead via the main banana connectors... You must have lithium and lead connected up.

THAT says:
Lead MK 73Ah + ADDON

So that wont work will it!
Its looking for the addon and the balance connector, and wants to charge a lithium!!!

You must slow down and read and absorb and be careful.

That all looks good. Try changing cell detection from AUTO to 12 Cells. But it shouldnt make a difference.

So either you have something plugged into the PL8 balance connector, or you have the battery not connected for some reason. How is it connected? Did you test the connection? Make sure you have the right connectors plugged inro the charger, and the chair!

26.1V? Its very fully charged. That means it doesent need charging and the charger may think its too many cells. Drive the chair about 100 meters... Its because its over 13v per battery.

Then it will be ok and charge but it doesent need charging.

Best bet, connect the Addon, and use the Lead+Addon preset.

Ok that was it - needed to be set to 12 cell count - it was on Auto - i though Auto checks it and figures it out -

its ok - now i know - its already on the CV stage - there were charged last week and chair not used - when this is done - i will put everything back - ADD ON - connect to the Chair and - then will charge with my new cables all together -

ADD ON and LEAD as on - using your new preset you made me - should i check that setting for the Cell count - ? what should be there ?

Your lithium is 8S...

Its set to AUTO correctly. It uses the balance cable to tell it how many.
Setting LEAD preset to 12 Cells means it will not charge a 12v battery. Only 24V. But AUTO is also good. Because your battery will not be over 13 (26) volts when you want to charge.

the preset you made for charging both Lead and ADD on - is set to Auto Detect also - if i run into the same problem as this - what cell count should i put it to ?

just in case - i wont know till i actually go to charge - but not till i use the chair first again - wont be till monday - since the weekend is rain - unless that changes i use it tomorrow and charge again to see if everything is working there and if my cables are working also

Stop the lead charge. Its already charged.
Its safe now to fit the ADDON.

And charge now with the LEAD+ADDON preset. To see what it does. It wont give that error.

Ok i see - if i want to charge a 12V - i have to set it to 6 cells or auto - Auto didnt work ? was it because it was already charged enough ?

when this is done - i will put everything back the way i had it - and next charge will be with your preset for both lead and lithium - with the new cables i made -

Ok all done - its on the chair - connected and charging - this one worked fine -

but i have to say - this one cable solution - is great in one way but - those connectors are so hard to connect and disconnect - i worry about how long this will last here

i cant do them - my carer - PCA i call them - very hard to connect and harder to disconnect - so this worries me - i hope they get better

its so much easier to connect - disconnect the Anderson over these new connectors - i hope over time it gets better - but working

i am using your combined new preset you made for me -

Ok i see what you mean - if i ever went to recharge it again with LEAD along it wont be 26V so AUTO would work fine in then - i keep missing the posts - must be because when i post and you post - and i miss yours -

or should i leave it overnight ? its at 690mA left - its been going a hour now - CV is 8 hours cut off i think -

I don't have Windows 8, but here's how to set what's shown in Windows Explorer in Windows 7 - I assume it's at least similar in Win8/8.1.

(1) Open WindowsExplorer. There may, or may not be, a menu at the top that says: "File Edit View Tools Help". If it's not visible, hold down the alt key and it should appear.

(2) Open the "Tools" item and there'll be a roll-down where the last item says "Folder options". Click that and you'll get a window like this:
folder options.jpg

(3) Click on the View tab and you'll see a long list of options:
view.jpg
Many of the "Hide" options are set by default. For the moment, the one you want to UNcheck is "Hide extensions for known file types".

(4) At the top of that pane there's a button that says "Apply to folders". If you click that, the next time you open Windows Explorer the view rules you've chosen will be applied to this folder and all sub-folders. If you do this in the root directory of the drive, it will be applied to the whole computer. (BTW, if you start this with the "View" choice instead of "Tools", you can set how your directories and files are display - icons, list, details etc. and that can also be applied to multiple folders. I suggest "details" unless you have a particularly small screen.)

CIao, Lenny

P.S. If Win8 is significantly different, I hope someone will chime in with whatever additional information Expresso needs.

It was different alright! It lasted 7 days here...

Windows 8 was really for touch screens. Only 7 and 10 are properly suited to a Desktop or laptop PC.

So get 10, its free...
